purpleronnie Posted 24 March 2011 Author Posted 24 March 2011 Not sure if the FA Vase has become a distraction but 2 league defeats on the trot (for me) has ruined their title chances, I predicted Tipton at the start of the season and TBH was surprised how well Coalville have done. Its still close but I can't see Tipton losing it. With such a hard FA Vase draw it could be another year of 'so close yet so far' for Coalville.
DB11 Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Would be going to this if I wasn't refereeing myself. Coalville is going to be packed today!
Sly Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Coalville are winning 1-0 Comm here: http://www.hermitagefm.com/#/listen-online/4549079967
ajthefox Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Be good if they get to Wembley, nice family day out for all the fans..
purpleronnie Posted 26 March 2011 Author Posted 26 March 2011 I think they will need a lead into the 2nd leg to have any chance.
purpleronnie Posted 26 March 2011 Author Posted 26 March 2011 Finished 3-0 cracking result, I hope they dont blow it, because its unlikely they'll ever get better chance to go to wembley.
fatmando Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Wow, Coalville thrashed 'em! Wasn't expecting that. Very commanding lead to bring to Lynn. What was the attendance today?
purpleronnie Posted 26 March 2011 Author Posted 26 March 2011 Wow, Coalville thrashed 'em! Wasn't expecting that. Very commanding lead to bring to Lynn. What was the attendance today? 1,800, I believe Kings lynn originally wanted to bring 1,500, not sure how many tickets coalville gave them.
fatmando Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Still a big attendance for this level. Decent. Be more at The Walks next saturday I would expect. Although being 3-0 down might stop a few glory hunters going. Lil' match report here if any1 wants a read: Coalville Town 3 King's Lynn 0 Saturday 26 March Charlie Defty was the surprise inclusion in the squad making his 98th appearance in Lynn colours but only his second of the season. Lynn had the better chnaces in a frantic opening, the best chance being a Luke Thurlborne long range lob which went just over. The Ravens slowly came more into the match an took the lead on 33 minutes when Lee Miveld header home from a corner. Lynn nearly got back into the game when Luke Thurlborne put the ball narrowly wide on 43 minutes with Steve Spriggs inches away from the final touch. Matt Moore shaved the post in a lively opening to the second half. Lynn fell further behind on 55 minutes through Jerome Murdock. Murdock nearly added a second a few minutes later but was denied by Alex Street. The third goal came on 63 minutes from Murdock when the bounce of a long ball eluded two Lynn defenders. Sean Bowles in the home goal was tested by Robbie Harris - probably for the first time in the afternoon, on 66 minutes. Harris did get the ball in the net on 83 minutes but the referee's assistant had already signalled offside. Sean Bowles got a right had to a Luke Thurlbourne shot to divert it for a corner as 4 minutes of time added on were signalled. A mountain to climb next Saturday. Lynn: Street, C Defty (Harris), Alsop, L Thurlbourne, Buhlemann, Watson, Bexfield, Doherty, J Defty, Spriggs, J Thurlbourne. Unused Subs: McNeil, Bacon, Fryatt, Hails Booked: C Defty, Watson, Bexfield
Stuliasz Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Great atmosphere down at Owen St today. Clearly a lot of City fans had decided it was worth missing the England game for and those behind the goal in particular made it a real occasion. On the pitch, Kings Lynn started the brighter but Coalville defended pretty well. It was only after about 30 mins that Coalville started to test what turned out to be a very shaky defence and the first goal was a good header planted from a corner. For the rest of the first half and the first 25 mins of the second, Coalville blitzed Kings Lynn creating plenty and bagging two decent goals to (hopefully) put the tie beyond the reach of Kings Lynn. They did show signs of being a good side who were having a bad day though so I wouldn't count chickens just yet. Couldn't have put ourselves in a better position though.
Bert Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Wonder how many will jump on the bandwagon for a day out at wembley?

Haydos Posted 27 March 2011 Posted 27 March 2011 I was down at Owen Street for Murdoch's debut in the Vase against Holbrook and there was a bunch of twats chanting about how shit he was, "who the ****ing hell are you?" etc. Think he's bagged about 13 already
Floating Fox Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Cracking result. Still fear we'll cock it up but I'm not missing this Saturday for anything. Can't believe people moan about the Bandwagon thing though. I mean i've watched Coalville when theres less than 100 people there on plenty of occasions but we are a tiny club, we're meant to have small club sydrome!

I know quite a few that are going tomorrow but I'd already payed for my Middlesbrough ticket, gutted. Won 7-0 again in the week so they're in good form.
