Babylon Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 What kind of responce is that AdamN? You have singled at least three players out in your rant and then said you don't like singling players out. Errrrr..... For the record, I'm not singling either of these two out, or blaming them for our lacklustre team performance, I'm using them as an example of players who could be equally criticised for their performance yesterday, despite the fact that they're fan favourites.
AdamN Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 What kind of responce is that AdamN? You have singled at least three players out in your rant and then said you don't like singling players out. Oakley has performed badly over the last few games and its affecting the team. As stated earlier we have more than often lost when he is in the team, the facts speak for themselves he should not be playing. I am not the type of person to slag players of week in week out. I have only ever made an handful of comments on this forum as I am never over critical and I never really let personnel dislike for a player cloud my judgment, but oakley is destroying this team...... No I haven't. I haven't blamed any of the players I mentioned for our defeat last night, I've merely pointed out that Oakley wasn't the only player who made mistakes or played badly, and as such, he wasn't single handedly responsible for the team playing crap as a whole. Wellens, Berner and Waghorn were just examples of players who didn't perform yesterday. They most certainly weren't the only ones. And the attack wasn't directed at you, personally, but then it's sometimes difficult to distinguish between someone with their head screwed on and some of the idiots who post on here, when their opinions occasionally match. A lot of unwarranted stick has come Oakley's way over the past couple of seasons, and it gets a bit tiring seeing the blame seemingly fall squarely on his shoulders, often when he's not been the only guilty culprit. Is he good enough for our team any more? Probably not. I think he can be effective as a second half substitute, to come on and give a professional performance to shut up shop, but that's probably about it these days. But is he, personally, destroying our team? No. I don't think so at all. In fact, I don't think anybody is 'destroying' our team. A bad run of form doesn't mean Leicester City Football Club is imploding on itself...
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 We just need to regroup and start again, whoever pulls on the Blue shirt of Leicester City - lets get behind them and cheer them on

It's also the way you go about it mate. Starting a thread with "Fans of Oakley...", and then telling us all how utter shite he is before demanding to know why he is still playing in our team. He is a very experienced player who has clocked up 100's of appearances in the Premiership and captained 3 different clubs. He's aging now and definitely isn't the plater he was however I'm still delighted to have him in our squad. He probably wouldn't be my first choice on the team sheet either and he isn't Sven's based on the 'usual' Abe, Wellens, King partnership however he obviously saw fit to play him last night as the 4 in midfield worked well away at QPR. Clearly didn't work last night but he can't be blamed. But as others have said, why haven't you brought up Waghorn's performance when he has come on and his unforgivable miss against QPR? Football fans only ever bring up 2 things, performances and results. Steve Claridge mentions this a lot and although it seems reasonable to only look at these two aspects of the game there are so many other aspects within the club which could be affecting the team or and individuals performance. Oakley could have been asked to do a certain job last night, for instance man mark a player (not saying this was the case) and nothing else. Therefore perhaps he wouldn't see as much of the ball or is not in the position you expect him to be. In my opinion he has been asked to fill in thankless roles so often since he arrived and has rarely been able to play in a position which would compliment his qualities. Stop jumping on the blame bandwagon and look at our team (and club) in the bigger picture, there are infinite reasons as to why our form has been poor recently and we can only speculate as fans. As a club we're in an incredible position with ambitious owners and a world class manager. ****ing enjoy it!!!!!!!

As a club we're in an incredible position with ambitious owners and a world class manager. ****ing enjoy it!!!!!!! why do others always feel the need to try and include other players as an excuse to defend oakley?? the thread is about oakley not waghorn.. and if a couple of misses deserves a thread then we would be creating them ALL the time about people.. Again last night oakley shown no reason to be in the squad let alone the team, countless times he gave the ball away, fouled, didnt track back. even now i dont even know what his position was last night? he seemed to just be wandering. he may have been OK at qpr but that was more to the 4132 and the team performing well, he still didnt stand out for anything in particular.. just because hes a long standing player shouldnt give him a free pass in the team... same with the scapegoat replies all the time, no one is saying oakley is the blame for the teams poor performance but that oakley is poor himself...
nickelbyfox Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Was jumped on last night for questioning Oakleys inclusion, agree with the point that he is best playing Abe's position (best game was against Derby where he played the role, yet Derby were awful 1st half). Is he better than Abe? I dont think so and must be better in training than Moreno as gets the nod to start however, Stats on him as dont have time to do all the players started 17 games in which we have Won 4 (Overall we have 15 Wins) Drawn 3 (Overall we have 7 Draws) Lost 10 (Overall we have 14 Losses) I know stats can be misleading but here they are, really just cant wrap my head around what he offers, he can be a bit of a fans player as he always hustles and tackles, so you think he does stuff, but surely someone else would be better! Gutted by lasts night loss and think we have a very slender chance, buy Oakley gotta be only used as a defensive sub!

You do know what singling out means right? Singling out? Single? Moron. I'm starting to think that moaning an whinging is in fact an English trait on this forum there is so little paitence and nothing but winning every game is acceptable. I've never seen anything quiet like it For fvck sake, chill out!
StanSP Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 We just need to regroup and start again, whoever pulls on the Blue shirt of Leicester City - lets get behind them and cheer them on Easier said than done for many idiots on here, my friend. Even if we win 3 or 4-0, scapegoats will still be found and Oakley, even if he was part of the team and scored all 4 goals, would still get slaughtered for being, well, Oakley. The man can't do anything right nowadays it seems
Trickyfox Posted 9 March 2011 Author Posted 9 March 2011 The facts….. The facts are there for all to see, every game I go to where Oakley is playing our performance levels drop off. We can see this in the results of games where Oakley has played, more often than not we LOSE….. I take it you all go down and watch, or do you go down with ‘gunna’….. You know – I was going to go but………………………………………………………. This is about players not pulling their weight not contributing to the club not giving 100% on match day. It’s alright saying he has captained three top clubs and played over a 100 games in the top flight, but where was he last night…..??????????????????

lcfc_jme Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 It's probably just a phase, I'm sure it will pass!!! "Babylon Bummer" You do speak sense more often than not Babylon ROOF is right though, you're speaking a lot of sense but it's lost on most because they need someone to blame or their life is empty. Bless them. As for how this thread has turned out, Chlo Dex has has summed it up pretty well, I reckon. This place is worse now than it was when we actually got relegated.

Don't boo Holloway, don't boo super steve. We'll stay up and look what happened. You wanna go and support a crap football team go support Crewe. We have standards here, if you're not good enough, then the fans will let you know.

I'll voice my opinions, I'll moan about the garbage we had 3 or 4 years ago but during the game, when they can hear me, i'll never be behind them less than 100%.
Babylon Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 so its the fans fault we went down when we did... .. We didn't boo enough. Now we know that's all it takes we can all boooooo ourselves to the champions league final.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 so its the fans fault we went down when we did... .. Well they wanted to keep the shower , on here they were all telling me how Holloway/howard/dj/Oakley/Clemence would keep us up. You support the crap, they're not going to change it are they ? Matt Oakley shouldn't be playing for Leicester anymore.

Losing 3-1 at home, let's start a fooking wave. Weird because like 90 % of people were booing yesterday. Foxestalk must be the fans who sit there in silent and then rant about the booing on their pc's.

Supporting shite players just gives you no standards. Like admitting we're shit and we expect shit. Like i said we should have better players on the pitch then Matt Oakley, he's a league 1 player at best.

Foxestalk must be the fans who sit there in silent and then rant about the booing on their pc's. Yeah, 'cause that was my point. As if Sven's not churned out enough of the mediocrity we already had here. Some say there's too many changes. You say there's not enough. He can't win. It's getting ridiculous how impatient and unrealistic people are. He's tried to improve. In your opinion we're missing one player, a central midfielder. So this makes Sven a dick. Good logic.
StanSP Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Hugo, I didn't see you at all, or any of the other deluded dicks on here when we won 5 in a row, and 6 out of 7, or got a well-earned draw against Man City? Where were you then? Let me guess, you were looking in to the future and envisaged a bad run would come, Ricardo would play alright but still get blamed for the goals, Oakley would play well and still get booed, and we'd drop away from the play-offs.
Babylon Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Nothing will make these players better, booing them shows Sven that even the fans know they're not good enough. We won't except shite anymore and he need getting rid off.
