I wasn't prepared to sit in traffic for half an hour to watch the lads jogging around waiting for the final whistle.

I had to be up for work at 6 this morning, but I stayed.

Nah they didn't mate, they were resigned to the defeat after about 70 minutes. If I honestly thought that there was any chance of us getting anything whatsoever then I would have stayed. I left on 85 minutes - it's not like I went home half an hour early.

It's because you feel like shit when you're 3-1 down at home in a must win game and just want to leave. I left on 88 minutes last night which is the first time I've left early for a very long time.

Stig the Lawnmower Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 never left a game early, no matter what the score. there could always be moments like last night. i remember watching Arsenal at filbo in the seventies, they were 1-0 nil up with minutes to go. we won 2-1 with goals from Bob Lee and ( as I recall) an overhead kick from Brian Alderson. lots of people left early then.

Gally was pretty much aiming to get it past the whole Norwich team as well & he still managed it, no matter what anyone says I'll still think he should be starting & is a player of high quality! I had perfect view last night too, cracking free kick & atleast showed a good spirit when he came on.

ozleicester Posted 10 March 2011 Author Posted 10 March 2011 Does anyone SERIOUSLY think that the team/players dont try?.. i mean seriously. Clearly they are trying to score, the fact that people leave the ground and say that others arent trying, is (IMO) more a reflection of themselves than the players. Ive played in games where we have been 3, 4 maybe even more goals down with little time to go and still i know i am trying and fighting to win.
