the_fosse Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Yesterday saw the Michael Owen rumour mill start to spin again. Sven Goran Eriksson is set to line up ‘an audacious summer bid’ they printed. I for one would love to see Owen here like so many other Leicester fans, I do have one problem with it though. It’s not his injury record either. Sven Goran Eriksson seems a stubborn chap when it comes to his systems of play and personnel. He’s adopted the 4-3-3 here and yes, it suits the way we play. It doesn’t suit the Yak though, but that’s a different matter all together. If Owen did come here there is no way in the World he can play as a lone striker in a 4-3-3, it just isn’t feasible to his style of play. So my question is, would Sven adapt a more suitable formation to suit? Stubborn or flexible? It’s an interesting thought. Blog below in more depth. http://sportales.com/sports/owen-coop-would-only-be-the-half-of-it-for-sven/
m00nie Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 if we dont make it this year i can see sven getting in players during the summer to make the team a 442.. (assuming hes still here)

Sven isn't choosing to play a 4-3-3/ 4-5-1. He has no choice. He has categorically stated that his preferential formation is 4-4-2.
21st Century Fox Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Sven says the Owen link is BS. I'd love to hear Sven phrase it that way :sge:
Ambitious Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Sven says the Owen link is BS. Good, I don't want him here, he's finished I want this man, The German Bundesliga 2 top goal scorer
One Arm Babba Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Good, I don't want him here, he's finished I want this man, The German Bundesliga 2 top goal scorer Careful now. Kermit looked good on youtube. look where that got us.
Ambitious Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Careful now. Kermit looked good on youtube. look where that got us. He wasn't a top league goal scorer, found another one ladies and gentleman I give to you France's Ligue 2's top goal scorer, Uruguays own Sebastian Ribas!
millzi Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Good, I don't want him here, he's finished I want this man, The German Bundesliga 2 top goal scorer His goalscoring record for Cottbus is 2nd to none. But the question is, would he cut it in England? I'm not a massive fan of unproven in English football players, especially strikers. It's relatively easy to look good and score goals in the European leagues 2nd divisions cause they are very rarely filled with quality teams, it is usually one or two teams that run away with the league and no way near as competitive as the Championship (cue someone to prove me wrong.)
STEVIE B Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Let's just get a few decent PERMANENT signings.A mixture of experience and young, hungry players that would run through brick walls for THEIR new club,LCFC.
MPH Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 He wasn't a top league goal scorer, found another one ladies and gentleman I give to you France's Ligue 2's top goal scorer, Uruguays own Sebastian Ribas! So thats where Sven has been going wrong. He just needs to trawl through youtube to find a good striker. Someone should tell him. I'll let you be the one.
