Kingylcfc Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 would he be on Sven's radar? would McCarthy be prepared to drop down to the championship if he was?
Haydos Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Don't want him. Too old, was never anything special, bad attitude, can do better.

zubi Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Well if he ever misses a training session, just head over to KFC to find him.
STEVIE B Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 No thanks. We need younger, hungry tigers, to blend with a smattering of experience. We can't carry players after a pension top-up.
Narborough_fox Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 No thanks. We need younger, hungry tigers, to blend with a smattering of experience. We can't carry players after a pension top-up. He's a hungry striker so there you go, shame he's not young.

The Doctor Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 No thanks. We need younger, hungry tigers, to blend with a smattering of experience. We can't carry players after a pension top-up. i'm not sure fielding hungry tigers would be a good idea. I'd prefer we stick to people instead. And no, if we wanted a striker that offers no goal threat what so ever we should've kept fryatt.

The Doctor Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Tbf fryatt had more of a goal threat than Mark de vries The only man that was more of a goal threat than the great man MdV was the even greater man, possibly the human version of god, Ian Ormondroyd.
cairnsy Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 The only man that was more of a goal threat than the great man MdV was the even greater man, possibly the human version of god, Ian Ormondroyd. What about ade "WTF was the manager thinking" akinbaye
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 you know your in a mess when your getting fined £200,000 for being too fat and dropped for being too slow ........ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1354074/McCarthy-fined-200-000-fat--dropped-slimming-regime-slow.html and not making the south africa squad for being too fat ........ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2010/article-1279315/WORLD-CUP-2010-Benni-McCarthy-fat-play-South-Africa.html fits the bill perfect then?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 was never anything special, Erm, integral part in a Champions League winning side?
Haydos Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Erm, integral part in a Champions League winning side? Ok, hasn't been anything special for about 7 years Even then he left them for Blackburn.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 I thought he seemed to adapt pretty well when he joined Blackburn, looked a shrewd piece of business (netted a fair few times in his first term there, I think), then he just seemed to lose any kind of form / talent. not sure if I'd want him, but he seems the type of guy Sven would go for.

I meant if he was so good he would have moved to a bigger club than them. Did the biz for Porto but he's 33 now and has had issues recntly at west ham. It's a no for me.
