I wish people wouldn't let facts and reason get in the way of a good spot of unfounded vitriol.

Bloody forum.

I can't believe this thread is still going. Can it please be closed due to the circularity of the arguments?

Sven's here for the cash, lets face it. He whored himself to any cu_nt that wanted him, and these pricks from mumbo jumbo land were stupid enough to go for him.

Fancy coming round for dinner sometime, reckon we could be right good mates?

Fair comment. But Pearson has since been building a new side at Hull, incorportating a couple of our rejects, on less money and are still above City in the table. Paul Jewell has done the same at Ipswich on a shoestring. So I'm still of the opinion that Sven has hardly set the world alight conidering the resources at his disposal.

Pearson has spent millions at Hull in transfer fees, signed some expensive free transfers and has also signed some promising youngsters from premier teams. Why do people think those youngsters are on less than ours?

Jewell has also signed some good players since he joined like Bullard and Healey to add to the team much more expensively assembled than our own under Keane.

I'm sure most will agree some of the loans haven't worked. On paper it's great, but we've learnt before that big names don't always equal results as we found out in the first season back in the champ after getting relegated under Adams.

As has been said by others this season was a gamble that quality loans would pull is through. If we don't have a different outlook next year it will be very disappointing.

Fantastic post, nice bit of racism chucked in for good measure.

Do people still believe that sven spent £10m?

Considering the mess Sven had to clear up, I would like to thank him for saving us from relegation.

In the close season he can be more choosy about who to bring in. He also must have gained a greater knowledge of championship football, which was an unknown quantity to him.

Well done Sven.

Wow, see what I told you? In this oasis of shite (led by the likes of somebum and ibbosuk, to name but two) you now come across as, dare I say it, a sane and level-headed poster.

I think he's talking about the £10million he's owed/was conned out of according to Panorama last week.

can someone ban somebum, I'm a cynic but that dude is clearly a jerkville supporter from another team.

Don't worry, once we start winning again next season he'll go on a long backpacking holiday in Colombia.

Surely some of the expectations of this season are bit skewered. I was under the impression that once we'd signed sven the thai owners had decided, quite reasonably, to gamble on this season, opting to splash out big on loan players and see if we could push through to the playoffs and promotion.

We chose to take our chances on a hodge podge of loan signings instead of trying to build a settled, long-term squad which is A) difficult to do in the middle of the season, especially if you're only a mid-table club and B) going to be significantly changed once we are promoted.

Who could we have signed in January that would have been good enough to substantially improve our chances at play-offs/promotion and -looking long-term - be worth keeping in the Premier league?

Sums it up perfectly, Svenis being blamed for following the owners instructions.

Next season you'll see the team that he wants, not one forced on him by unreal expectations, which we almost made.

honest is the best policy , maybe not on here as you will get slagged off , but its still the best policy . HONEST !

Yeah, I know what you mean. I tried to give an honest view about Ricardo and a lot of m**gs cut my throat open. It's a tough job to be honest. It's job for men like you and me. Hooray for us.... :chant:

Yes, I'm sure using next season to make a more traditional and conservative push for promotion has been Sven and the owners plan B from the start.

If we started the slow build in january we'd be only a few steps ahead of where we'll be in the summer. No doubt sven can catch up pretty quickly.

PS nobody likes to make signings during January unless they absolutely have to - it's all a bit mental then (ie out of form torres for 50m etc etc)
