LCFC-Till I Die Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 and thoroughly deserved aswell. Best team to come to the Walkers and probably the best set of fans aswell. Even early on in the season in the 4-3 game I thought they'd be there or there abouts. Just hope Reading win the play offs now. On a side note with Southampton also coming up to this league next year, its gonna be one hell of a league with alot of goals next year, especially if huddersfield also come up and West Ham+Blackpool come down. I think im glad we're in this league next year, some decent away days
lcfcadam Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 General Football / Sport? And although they thoroughly deserve it, it's still a tiny bit galling that they outdid us and managed back-to-back promotions to the Prem... <_<
Kitchandro Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Yeh they've deserved it, good side. Glad they've gone up and not cardiff. Hopefully neither them or Forest will go up in the play-offs.

I think im glad we're in this league next year, some decent away days Amazing feat... shows how picking a player, team solidarity and having a settled squad all pay dividends. Reminds me very much of O'Neil... taking relatively unknown talent, inspiring them and getting them playing out of their skin... Lennon, Izzett, Elliott, Savage all case in points. Also shows that, if you know what you're doing, you don't have to spend a fortune Very Very impressed with Lambert
Kitchandro Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 General Football / Sport? And although they thoroughly deserve it, it's still a tiny bit galling that they outdid us and managed back-to-back promotions to the Prem... <_< Agreed. Best of a bad bunch though.
Corky Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 General Football / Sport? And although they thoroughly deserve it, it's still a tiny bit galling that they outdid us and managed back-to-back promotions to the Prem... <_< It is, but we still did brilliantly to get where we did.
Haydos Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Agreed. Best of a bad bunch though. Bad bunch? Is that just sour grapes? Swansea/Cardiff/Reading/Norwich all play some nice football. Hope Reading go up from the play offs.
Scow Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 They've done amazingly well; shows you what stability and momentum can do. However, they didn't have to compete with a Newcastle or West Brom.

Hope Reading go up from the play offs. of course its sour grapes.. I personally think Swansea are the best side left and have done very well to make the play-offs
LCFC94 Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 General Football / Sport? And although they thoroughly deserve it, it's still a tiny bit galling that they outdid us and managed back-to-back promotions to the Prem... <_< Thats exactly how i feel
Kitchandro Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Bad bunch? Is that just sour grapes? Swansea/Cardiff/Reading/Norwich all play some nice football. Hope Reading go up from the play offs. Yeh Cardiff robbed us last year and I don't like some of their players, Chopra for example. Reading were never really going to get 2nd. I've not really got a lot against Swansea but they are you know, a bit...Welsh (soz Finners)
lcfcadam Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Bad bunch? Is that just sour grapes? Swansea/Cardiff/Reading/Norwich all play some nice football. Hope Reading go up from the play offs. Hate Cardiff, despise them in fact, and wouldn't want to see them anywhere near the Prem. Personally I'd rather Swansea go up than Reading, Reading's just such a dull club / place that would hardly improve the spectacle of the Premier League (*prepares for hostile abuse from people of Reading...*) P.S. bad bunch / sour grapes - I like it
Brown Fox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 So jealous of these lot. Back to back promotions is unbelievable. Please please please can we get promoted next season!!!!

One Arm Babba Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 I would like Cardiff to go up. They are always there or there abouts and they'll be top 4 next year again if they dont win the playoffs
Cropwellfox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Lambert is a class act - interesting that he was widely tipped for our job before NP thankfully beat Gregory to it. Their side shows what can be done with belief and organisation in this league, the tough part comes next year and clinging to 17th place in the prem. Maybe the way we are going about it might make the transition a bit easier, but you have to get there first, which they have done without big egos or stupid wages. Fair play but hugely jealous.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 They deserve it, good all round team rather than indivduals. Only thing I dont like is their ticket prices for away fans.
Wymsey Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Congratulations to them. With little a budget, Lambert and co have done extremely well. Shows that money isn't anything, particularly in this league.
Corky Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 And it's a pretty crap awayday off the calendar next year (I know Southampton are coming up so it's cancelled out).
lcfc_jme Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 They've done amazingly well; shows you what stability and momentum can do. However, they didn't have to compete with a Newcastle or West Brom. Agreed. Had both Newcastle and West Brom been down here, they'd both have still occupied the top 2 this year again, in my opinion. Not to take anything away from Norwich, mind. They remind me of us last season in that they've found a way to grind results out when they perhaps haven't deserved them, and they've also never, ever given up and fought for each other right to the death.

Yeh there's a lesson there, hoepfully Sven will instill this mentality in them next season
lcfc_jme Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Yeh there's a lesson there, hoepfully Sven will instill this mentality in them next season Definitely. We'd be almost unplayable for most at this level if we could supplement our passing game with mental toughness and tenacity.
Asha Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Paul Lambert = Martin O'Neil ? Paul Lambert is Paul Lambert. Martin O'Neill is Martin O'Neill.
