Not sure we've had one of these.

I'm just watching Star Trek Voyager and there's a reference to Cathrine Janeways birthday being May 20th which is today (recorded im my planner from a while back - 1 in 365)

Also made friends with a lad when I was 12 on holiday from the other side of the UK, never saw or heard from him again but my old man sent his old camcorder videos to be digitally stored and the guy running the business was his the lads brother and was like "why is my brother on your video! 1 in 60 million!

Anyone else got any decent stories?

recently , a friend and i were talking about good books that we'd read and one in particular stuck in my mind .

a few weeks later i saw the book in a charity shop and bought it . when i opened it there was an airline boarding card with his name on that he had obviously been using as a book mark

sort of a weird coincidence i thought, but i'm not sure about the odds

Yeah, my odds were not calculated very well as I took into account babies and OAPs. Your story is brilliant! I love this shit

Seen people I know from back home in Gran Canaria and Turkey, eating in the same restaurant as us.

thanks , i forgot to say that the story of the video was truly amazing , how many years had passed in the interim ? did he recognise his brother straight away or did it take time to register ?

Yeah it was about 15 years and he rang my dad and was in shock! he thought it was some sort of joke! My dad didn't have a clue who he was and I barely remembered him!

A guy in my IT class was at my Hotel when i got stuck in Turkey during the ash cloud scenario, that was pretty freaky. I walked up to grab something to eat and just past him and we both gave each other the wtf look, ended up talking to each other quite a lot.

I had Similar experience with ric flair in Greece

Yeah but deliberately stalking him can't count as coincidence, surely?

South of france about 6 years ago, at a mcdonalds, me and my family bumped into some english people and got talking (as the english do when bumping into eachother abroad). anyway, turned out that they were my dad's second cousins! we didn't recognise them or know who they were until our families got talking. thought that was mad!

Met a lad in tenerife who went to the nearest 6th form to mine and knew a tonne of lads from my college.

At the time we were pretty smashed so we went pretty mad about it.

When my auntie used to babysit me and my sister she'd always put UB40 - Red red wine on.

She died a couple of weeks back, when I got in my car literally just after hearing I put the radio on and red red wine was just starting.

When we moved house, we had a conservatory built, and the council sent letters to the neighbours regarding planning permission. The lady next door came round as soon as she got hers and was like "we have the same surname". Her and my grandma got talking and realised she was some relation of my grandad, quite weird really.

Don't know if this quite compares.

The landlord at the local pub had a visit from a couple who now live in spain. They bought him some LCFC beer mats as hes city mad, which they had bought in covant garden.

A few weeks passed and a different couple popped into the same pub. They spotted these mats, and it turns out they were the stall holders selling these very lcfc beer mats!

When I lived in Wigston, our house number was 76. I used to get post addressed to a guy with my surname and first initial but had nothing to do with me. Turned out this guy lived at 176 on the same road and kept getting my post too.

No relation though.

I was singing a song once when I got into my car, turned the engine on and it was playing on the radio exactly in time to my singing.

I'm awesome.

this is my first post but it's a goodun'!

we moved house about 5 years ago and only a few weeks ago I found out that my new(ish) next door neighbour has exactly he same first and surname as me apart from just ONE letter difference!

I only found out cos I got sent a new blackberry in the post randomly, I thought I had somehow won it and was just about to flog it on eBay when he knocked on the door asking if it had been dropped off at my house!

I was on a cruise in alaska a few years ago which is pretty abstract anyway, but i was getting into one of the many lifts on the cruise and out of all the thousands of passengers my biology teacher was in that exact lift on that floor!!

I've just watched 24hour party people wich made referance to the hacienda's opening night of May 21st. (1982)

(I know i'm replying to my own post)

Thinking about this I'm not sure that the coincidence I mentioned is as much of a coincidence than just after noticing it I came on this site and theres a coincidence thread on in which I can tell everyone of my coincidence

A friend of mine went on a fishing trip to bridlington, after a good day out they decided to go and get smashed. He ended up with this bird and started a long distance relationship.

After about 3 months he finally bought he down to northampton for a weekend of "meeting the family" when his mum was asking about her and explaining her sister had moved there aged 17 and died in an accident aged 21 and hadnt seen any of the family as they moved to australia. it came to light that she was the daughter of her sisters daughter. 2nd cousin i think.

didnt last much longer after that.
