Peatling_terrier Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 He's a good keeper, I've been watching him since he started (in a 4-0 defeat), he's alright, show's a lot of potential BUT at this point it's only potential. IMO Bennet was much better for us this season than Smithies, Bennet makes the easy saves, catches the ball does everything right. Smithies sometimes messes up the easy shots, doesn't catch straightforward crosses, can't kick.... However he saves lots of pennos, and makes unbelievable saves. He'll be quality in a few seasons, not just yet though

Get real, if he comes along and is error prone like Weale he'll get the same abuse anyone else would, regardless of age. It's not youth/reserve team football we pay good money to watch. He would be handsomely paid to do a job & if he proved unreliable he'd have to take the consequences.

I don't boo players but I'm surprised he hasn't been given dogs abuse at times.

I'd be happy for us to sign Smithies but seeing as he is apparently prone to the odd mistake we should probably bring in someone a bit more experienced as well for the high profile games. Still seems like a decent prospect if we give him a chance.

Endless times he saved one on ones and pulled out amazing saves for Leicester, Man City, England and Real Madrid (I've signed him every club I've been at )
