Correct ME if I am wrong here

Ok..........You're wrong.......The Thai pot is very deep .......

This Thai pot?

So we need to sign Mee then as Ledger and Bamba will be fighting for the same place.

Seems the return of Vitor is unlikely.

or Bamba as a holding midfielder adding so much needed physicality to our rather soft midfield

Based on supposition and rumours? or have you actually got access to their funds to know how deep they run?

I'd sooner see him take it on the chest when playing in midfield than in defence.

Correct ME if I am wrong here, Faz or whoever said it, said we won't get all 12. I was just saying there are better players out there, and there are better players, but as I also said, if Sven thinks they're good enough for Leicester, then I'll support that.

Im not suggesting that Sven is picking poor players! I'm rather impressed with some names in the speculation, however blind faith in him I believe is misplaced as he is prone to mistakes IMO!

Every manager is prone to mistakes, the good ones just don't make them as often

just thought id give u my view on ledger as a pne fan.......He was undoubtebly one of the best centre backs in the league about 2 years ago when we were up in the playoffs but after his £4 million move to middlesboro fell through, he hasnt been up to the same high standards for whatever reason. He has still been a very solid centre back for us and most pne fans would want 1.5 - 2 mill for him. His performances for ROI have been outstanding and hes ever present in their starting 11, helping clean sheets against the likes of italy a couple of weeks ago. He always puts 100% in and was made our club captain when Phil Brown took over. We would love to keep him but know that we probably cant due to his high wages and we need some cash from his sale, if you sign him, i reckon he will be back at an ambitious club and he will get back to his high standars he set a couple of years ago, i see quite a few of you arent pleased with him going to u but i think you will be pleasently surprised and i wouldnt be surprised to see him in the premiership in a year or 2!

Did you actually see that "Korean guy" play during the world cup against brazil? If he can give Brazil a run for there money, he can sure as hell give most of the teams in the championship a run for there money too.

Posted

Not necessarily the thread for it but I should point out that the club aren't owned by Vichai or Top Raksriaksorn or by King Power, but by Asian Football Investments which is a consortium.

The Raksriaksorns are the public face of AFI but the money is believed to come from other individuals as well as the Thai input. So while Vichai himself is worth X Amount, AFI may have significantly more funds available.

Congratulations on displaying the fact that they have a number of successful business operations over in Thailand, what this DOESN'T show is the depth of the pot of money that they are injecting either through their personal wealth or from the business. It may be that they £100m's of money to invest and that they are more than willing to do so, but i think we are getting carried away.

So again, have you seen evidence of the AMOUNT of money that they are willing to invest and have already invested? NO. my argument still stands. we dont have a bottomless pit of money in which to invest in a large number of players who will cost £2m £3m, £4m, £5m or whatever.

Agreed, also there has to be a fine line to bringing in players to get to the premier league, however once you get there will be a different kettle of fish to stay there, take Naughton for example priced at 5 million apparently.

Also cant believe people are seeing a decent ROI international being touted around 1 million as a gash move!

Correct me if I am wrong here, but "the money we have" is being utilised to target upto a dozen players, now if we were to spend £1m on each player, then £12m is a massive outlay when you also include agents fee's, wages, signing on fee's etc. Clearly some players we are targeting are in excess of that (and yes, I appreciate some are on free's)

We are potentially building a new squad, that doesn't come cheap and I dont think we are quite as flush with cash as everyone seems to think. Especially when you factor in the costs of the new playing surface, the screens, the development of the training facilities etc.....

do you really think they would be doing the pitch AGAIN, the training ground, etc if they didnt have the funds we think they have.

the screens will pay for themselves anyway and the owners know the premier league will bring in even more revenue so think they will be prepared to spend more should it be needed,,

By Korean guy guessing you mean tae-se he's actually really good mate. He's decent enough for the championship bet you'll change your mind if he pops in goals left right and centre ;)
