Sean St Ledger

Could be a possibility. If reports are right that we are going for Mills, SSL, Mee & Woodgate I think there must be something cracking off. Could also see the end of Tunchev at city as well.

Can't see us signing all four. Best we can hope for is SSL and Mills as first choice with Mee happy enough to be our 3rd choice CB and 2nd choice LB.

Woodgate would be a disaster I think

I don't want Ben Mee anywhere near Leicester again.

I find it hard to see why Leicester fans like him so much, he was so sloppy.

Sean St. Ledger is a lot better then Mee, a lot more experience at this level too.

You do realise how old he is don't you? That when he came to us he had never played a league match before, and he was competent enough for Sven to bring him here. Yes he made mistakes, and no doubt will make mistakes in the future, but as young prospects go, probably one of the best for his age in the country.

I think he'll do an adequate job as a back-up CB and LB.

One thing that is clearly evident is the lad has serious potential and isn't frightened to get stuck in and his work rate and endeavour is excellent.

EDIT: I suspect that this is an attempt at trolling.

Ben Mee won man of the match a few times for us and only played like 10 times.

He showed me enough that he would definitely be a good signing.

Wouldn't want to pay much more than 1 million for him though

If it came down between a choice of St Ledger and Mee and same price though..... hmmmm tough one!!

Mee had NO senior experience when he came here, and he was still better than a few of the defenders we've had on our books over the past few seasons. Most of his mistakes were purely down to inexperience, given more game time this season he'll be an excellent defender.

Can't believe people are saying they don't want Mee back, he was inexperienced and will become one of the countries best defenders in a few years time, pretty sure of it.

How much would you pay for him though? Your limit??

That would be my only sticking point if it was a direct choice between Ledger and Mee.

Probably up to about 1.5 million to be honest. He can play at CB and LB, so its cover for two positions, rather than one. He can only get better with experience and more game time. The only bad points I thought he had, was diving into challenges into the box and giving away a penalty. Over time, he'll do that less and less. Sven obviously rates him.

Mee is 21 years of age and didn't make the England Under 21's. In front of him are Jones, Smalling and Tomkins. All three have Premiership experience, two of them look the best defensive prospects in Europe and Smalling's played Champions League.

I agree with the poster's point, Mee (and Vitor) for that matter were part of last season's problem. Yeah I loved his tackles and his attacking of the ball but he was fall to sloppy on marking and positional sense. The sort of things you only notice if you concentrate watching him. Was he really any better than Hobbs? Going on how we leaked goals, no.

I'd be happy with his signing, provided he has an experience head alongside him. Bamba's not that at the minute.

For further comparison, St Ledger is an international defender who played extremely well against Italy recently, finished off Dunne's international career and is part of Ireland's current team which is making a superb effort for international tournament qualification. Get him motivated and the right attitude, he's by far a better option. Mainly cos he's been one of the best defenders in the division already, he just needs to a new club to rediscover his club form.

Yes, but they are also £10 million pound plus defenders who are playing for top clubs in England. We are a championship side, and for under £2 million, he would be a bargain.

Was he? He were still conceding three goals on a regular basis and struggling whenever we faced a striker who was pacy or basically good.

And I bet you love bruma and Bamba and think Vitor is shit.

Have you ever watched football?

You said Mee was going to be one of the best defenders in the country. The three lads I mentioned currently are, they are either the same age or two years younger...they are way beyond Mee in terms of performance and experience, so it looks unlikely Mee will be one of the best in the country at that rate.

I still reckon he'll be in the top 10 in a couple of years. If we reach the prem he'll develop and get better.

Twice on his debut

I wouldnt mind if we actually signed mee on a permanent deal because he will obviously get better with experience, but in terms of his current ability i dont think hes good enough so a loan would be pointless
