Mark Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 Have to stop. With the forum growing we'll end up having congratulation threads all over General Chat. Can we stick to congratulating people on 1000/5000/10000 only, i can't see the point in every thousand myself.. if you're that desperate to congratulate them, PM them. Thanks
Mark Posted 12 June 2005 Author Posted 12 June 2005 You're a top poster Ricey, but it's gone a bit crazy recently
Anish Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 This is a bit harsh in my opinion, we're only trying to be friendly
john_lcfc Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 but now the forum has over 1100 members i see the reasoning behind this desicion
Anish Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 but now the forum has over 1100 members i see the reasoning behind this desicion 122775 Of those 1100 members how many are actually active? And of those active members, how many will actually reach 1000 posts? I think there won't be that many new members who post enough to reach such 'milestones' for a considerable amount of time.
Guest freund Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 I totally agree with Mr. C, infact it was my idea, so take it out on me if you must. Congrats threads are of detriment to the board.

Besides, it's a bit rich to say somethings 'a detriment to the board' when it's coming from you...
stez Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 thats got you a couple nearer the big 5G mr c keep going fella!

Alexikokopops Posted 12 June 2005 Posted 12 June 2005 I gotta agree with Mr C and freund, there does seem to be a lot of them recently.
C-man Posted 13 June 2005 Posted 13 June 2005 Maybe one for 3000 as well though, because thats when you can change your status? Just a suggestion.
CasinoGee Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 Surely the threads can be deleted after a couple of days?
Steven Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 Why not have a general congratulatory thread for this and Birthdays.
Muz Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 Why not have a general congratulatory thread for this and Birthdays. 123605 Good Idea!
CasinoGee Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 But then everyone would just ignore it and there wouldn't be any point. Just delete the threads after a couple of days.
City Fan Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 ....but that gives the mods more work. I think Steven's suggestion is best. One sticky to congratulate on birthdays, and another sticky to congratulate on post counts......
stez Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 But then everyone would just ignore it and there wouldn't be any point. Just delete the threads after a couple of days. 123609 they drop onto page 2 and beyond after a couple of days anyway (except for the super popular people)
CasinoGee Posted 15 June 2005 Posted 15 June 2005 Of xure, but they won't even be noticed at all if there in a seperate thread, come on, can you really imagine it, "hmm, I know, lets go on this thread and see whose post milestone/birthday it is today." I wouldn't. But if there are seperate threads then it wqould be like "ahh, good old *insert name here* it'd be nice to wish them a happy birthday/number of posts!"
