Petchy Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Interview with Dyer on radio Leicester... it so very insightful especially some of the training techniques they employ: RL: So Lloyd, pre season, the first time with sven what is it like this year? LD: It different, its harder i feel fitter RL: So what sort of things have you been doing? LD: Its different RL: Obviously we know about last years pre season, how has it changed this year? LD: ........ Its... different, its just different and harder Bit unfair, as once you listen to it, it's obvious he didn't want to get drawn in to the whole 'Paulo Sousa's pre-season techniques' debate.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Just listening to RL phone in and it seems Dyer really does love the club and doesnt want to leave. Even said 'its his club'. Good on him, he can always do a job as a squad player. Think that is the first interview I have heard from him in like, Stringer did well to get an interview out of him.
Carlos9 Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Should definatly be given a chance. If he trains hard on his end product he could be a major threat to defences. He reminds me of Theo walcott, just hasnt got the age on his side! Obviously he isnt as good as Theo Walcott before people start getting into "are you daft!?" but you know what I mean !

He's 28, he's had plenty of time to work on his end product.
Carlos9 Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 He's 28, he's had plenty of time to work on his end product. But if his legs go he will be nothing. Wingers don't last as most other positions unless they have something other than pace e.g Beckham & Giggs

Do we really want a player with little ability and only pace to his name?

Personally I'd give him until January. He might step up to the plate and be more consistent because he has moments of magic at times
Haydos Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Personally I'd give him until January. He might step up to the plate and be more consistent because he has moments of magic at times I kind of feel the same but if we brought in someone like Routledge and another central striker (meaning we'd have Routledge, Gally, Nugent, Vassell and possibly Danns as wide options) then I think he'd be better off leaving sooner rather than later. Can't believe he was offered a 4 year deal in September.

LestaFox92 Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 if he think he can fight for a place then that's it keep him mentailty we need right now.
hackneyfox Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Palace fan at works seems to think the same of Routledge 'fast, tricky but cannot cross a ball, will beat a player and score some great goals but cannot cross, he'll also want totake your corners and won't beat the first defender'. He did mention that was all some time ago and that he may have improved.
blueblood88 Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 League 1 is Dyer's level, albeit he is a very good player at that level. Just one of those players who can't quite make the step up, good luck to him though.

Just one of those players who can't quite make the step up, good luck to him though. Don't agree with that at all. When he played last season he was our best player at times. To say he can't step up to Championship football is pretty unfair.
norfolkfox222 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 blueblood88 ur talking like a wet fish!!! he was one of our best players last season!! Under Sousa he was the stand out!! I seriously think hes a great squad player and still should push for a start in the front 3, him Nugent and Gallagher... with the what i think is awesome defence gk and midfield with have to back it up im seriously looking forward to the new season. If he aint up to the mark, step up Mr schluuuuup who i think will fit in perfect and people are forgetting!!! GOING UP UP UP
