Bayfox Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 I think NP got the best out of lloyd because he knew from his West Brom days and knew what he was getting and was able to manage him in the right way, for all Svens man management skills I don't think he rates lloyd at all and despite him having the ability to change a game with his pace, he doesn't seem to like being an impact player. If we could get anywhere around 600-800k for him from NP at Hull i'd let him go.
milan_foxes Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Lloyd Dyer to Sheffield Wednesday is a big possibility That's coming from Fourth_Official on Twitter.
wellyfox Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Seemingly yes. Two of them (Rob Jones and David Prutton) have already signed. It does seem a very odd way of doing things. I would prefer silence and only to announce things when they were done and dusted. Did he do this at Leicester? Milan wants Neil Mellor back, Jason Scotland, Danny Green, Michael McIndoe, Jason Koumas, Jose Semedo, Julian Bennett, and Danny Baath back on loan. How many of these signings we will get I don't know. I would be pleased with half of them. lmao I signed on your site when he saved you (as i lived in Barnsley for a while and know a few Owls) and tried to explain what MM was like and what you was getting. Some said ok most said piss off your just causing trouble well praps now you know. N good look for nxt season and do me a favour screw the blades plse.
Maybes Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Shame. His pace is always a threat. Will never forget him as he was part of the squad that gave us faith in our club once again. Scored some fantastic goals in league one.
Alf Bentley Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 I'd be sorry to see Lloyd move on, and not only for sentimental reasons (1 of our longest-serving players now...3 years). While agreeing with the comments about his extended periods of poor form, his natural level is mid-Championship, so he'd be a good signing for the Owls, as he was for us (double figures of goals in our L1 promotion season, in case people forget). I have the impression that he has a fragile ego - the image of him walking off with Pearson's arm around him, telling him that he's a good player, persists. Also... - He's a wide attacker, NOT a winger (strength is running at defences at pace, not crossing); much better under 4-3-3 than 4-4-2 - One of the few good ideas that Sousa had as manager was sticking Lloyd on the right (he's exceptionally left-footed) to come inside, running at the heart of opposing defences...caused a lot of panic. Hope he stays here, but probably a bench player now...
HoustonFox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Is this paving the way for Whittingham or someone like that to come in? How many wide players do we have at the moment? Gally counts as 0.5....
Guest Mee-9 Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 That goal against Man City to make it 3-2. or That goal against Blackpool last season.
ajthefox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Dyer isn't ever going to be a regular started here because of his inconsistencies but he has ability and it'd be a great shame if we were to flog him imo, he can still very much do a job as a squad player.
tartanowl Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Jermaine Johnson has this morning signed a new contract. I will be surprised if this goes ahead now. That is unless Megson is planning on having and playing two identical wingers in his starting XI.

tartanowl Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 However... Gary Teale has had his contract terminated this morning. That leaves space for another wide man.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 However... Gary Teale has had his contract terminated this morning. That leaves space for another wide man. I'd love to keep Lloyd.. Hes very very quick If you get him you'll love him
whitlock Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 That goal against Northampton? Ran full length of the pitch with Cleverly.
RyanB89 Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 I'd love to keep Lloyd.. Hes very very quick If you get him you'll love him thats debatable ....
Fox 4 Life Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 Lloyd was superb for us in league one, a bit inconsistent but on his day he is unplayable. Would be a great signing, he is a definite game changer
Chairman of the Bored Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 Hopefully LD pic in new away strip means he will stay.....if only to model the strip. We Love You Lloydy, don't go......

accessory Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Best wishes to him - did well for us in League 1 but struggled to maintain that consistency at a higher level, and clearly isn't part of Sven's brave new world.
FrankieADZ Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Good luck to him, one of them players that always gave his all for us and I'd just like to say thanks to him for being the best Left footed attacking player we've had since Steve Guppy.
sdb Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Not quite at the level we're aiming for (although we have few other options in his position). Glad he wont be in the same division as us too, so i'm happy overall.
Dicko Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I'll be gutted if Dyer goes, he's the best winger we've had down here for a few years, and will be a great signing for Sheff Wed. To be honest i'm surprised another Championship side hasn't jumped in for him. However, a bit like Hobbs, it's clear that Sven doesn't fancy him for whatever reason so will just have to trust that we've got someone better lined up. Best of luck to him.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 One of a few players to maintain any kind of dignity when Sousa was in charge.
Nunny Fox Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 One of a few players to maintain any kind of dignity when Sousa was in charge. Would be a shame to see him go, I think he is one of those players that as a defender you cant take you eyes off as he is always a threat. He was good at the start of the season for Sousa I remember that he was the only lcfc player to turn up for Reading at home but i understand that if we are really goin to push on and move on to bigger and better things then i dont see room for players like Dyer. Good luck to him, i would certainly give him a very warm reception if he came back to the walkers (until he notch's of cause).
