Lloyd Dyer

Shame really as I like Dyer. Really tried hard and scored a few goals too.

He is so left footed though. I cant remember having a player who always needs to have the ball on one foot, his right cant be too good.

On his day he can cause defenders havoc, and sometimes he can go missing in games.

Will be deadly at that level again though.

Waghorn?

And the one against Thailand. Doesn't explain why he's so reluctant to use his right peg in general play

Don't be so sure dyer going sheff w

Yeah, I'm sure someone mentioned being told recently at a training session by Dyer himself that this rumour was complete rubbish?? :dunno: Seems even more unlikely given the aforementioned renewal of his contract in the recent past.

I'll believe it when I see it announced officially. That means from an OS, not Radio Leicester--don't fully trust their info at the moment.

Did anybody hear his interview on radio Leicester earlier?

He said that he loves it at Leicester. He referred to Leicester as "my club", and said that he wants to stay and fight for his place.

I'm really pleased about this, think he has the ability to change a game when things aren't going our way. :scarf:

As I much as admire Dyer's willingness he is not going to be in our plans this season, as a sub okay, but surely his ambition should be to play first team football at another club

Im under no illusions that dyer is as good as the current crop being attracted to lcfc, but his performance (all be it characteristically hit and miss) against man city made me smile.

Well at the moment he is one of few wingers we have so he may just have a part to play unless we sign another winger or two.

I think Dyer should stay and fight for his place

We all know his ability with the ball is rubbish but his pace is electric and can change a game with a simple run down the wing!

If we were to go up sure let him go but for now he is a keeper!

I think it's quite likely he'll stay - we haven't signed any other wingers (yet !). I would imagine, the only way Sven would let Dyer go, would be if he brought in another genuine winger (not a 'wide midfielder' or a striker playing wide - like Vassell or Gallagher) - eg Routledge - we need at least one. As we haven't, my bet is he'll stay - for the time being at least.

Lloyd Dyer insists he has no desire to leave Leicester City.

The popular winger has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium.

But he does not even entertain the thought of leaving a club he insists he has fallen in love with.

Dyer has been strongly linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday in recent weeks, but he says he has heard nothing from Wednesday, and neither would he welcome any approaches.

Dyer admits he may not have played as much as he would have liked under Sven-Goran Eriksson since the City boss arrived last October.

But he is backing his own ability to cement a place in Eriksson's side as they begin what Dyer believes will be a memorable season.

"I am aware I have been linked with other clubs but, as far as I am concerned, I am a Leicester player and I love it here," said Dyer.

"I don't want to go anywhere. This is my club. I can't see why I would go anywhere else, especially when there are exciting times ahead.

"I have had no contact from Sheffield Wednesday and I wouldn't entertain that either. No-one has approached me.

"I love this club and everyone in my family loves this club. My young son loves this club.

"Everyone at the club is good to me and the fans are great to me. I don't want to go anywhere."

He added: "There is more competition for places now but I see that as a greater chance that we can go up. There are some exciting times ahead.

"This will probably sound a bit weird but last season was probably the first time I have played for a club and felt really proud to play for a club. I love to play for this club, I love it. I am proper proud to play for Leicester.

"I didn't like the speculation. I don't want to go. No-one has approached me or my agent."

Dyer, who signed a new four-year contract last season to commit himself to the club, said he feels City are on the verge of achieving something historic.

"I 100 per-cent believe we are heading towards something special," he said.

Great news! And top marks to Dyer for coming and and saying this, it's refreshing to see a player (a) show some genuine affinity for the club and (b) be prepared to knuckle down and fight for a place in the side.

I still believe Lloyd has a part to play at this club, even if it is an "impact sub". After what he's said in the mercury all I can say is that he's a legend. I hope all the new players fall in love with the club too!

And he'll do what after 70 minutes?

He did fook all when he came on last season, why should he do any better this season?

Hoos parting gift

I appear to have a different opinion.

I think he can be pretty effective.

What does he do then?

He can't cross so he's hardly a winger.

He doesn't score, so he's hardly a striker.

What pace he has will soon disappear as he gets older.

He's 28, so his legs should be good for a few years yet (unless he gets a Yakubu-type injury..)
