bald reynard Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 IF we sign Pantsil - and it's looking increasingly likely - we'll have both Fulham Full Backs from their (fairly successful) 2008/9 and 2009/10 seasons. Konchesky and Pantsil played 59 matches together and formed part of a defence that only conceded 80 goals in those two full Premiership seasons - which is pretty good. I was speaking to a Fulham supporter at work, who said that the success of the partnership was one reason Liverpool were prepared to lay out so much dosh (£3.5m) in buying Konchesky. A Reds fan listening in, followed that comment up, by saying that one of the reasons for Konchesky's 'failure' at Liverpool, was him having to cover for all the dodgy right backs Hodgson kept picking (ie no Pantsil) - and the constant changes he kept making to the defence (though Dalgleish must have seen the videos,' cos he hardly picked him at all) !

Another player that has been mentioned is Schalke midfielder Anthony Annan, currently out of favour at the German club. Pantsil and Annan were both playing in last years World Cup, reaching the quarter finals with Ghana.
