Mark Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 We've all been to them, a game so bad that you just have to laugh. Mine was a few seasons ago at home to Stoke. We drew 0-0, it was cold and there was a crap atmosphere, without a single event all game to look back on. Best was probably the 3-3 at home to Arsenal in 97. Probably the best hat trick i'll ever get to see during a Leicester game from Bergkamp, and the last couple of minutes where we drew level was just breathtaking
City Fan Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best game was the 5-2 demolition of Sunderland. Worst game was the cup game against Crewe season before last, it was 1-0, with Dickov scoring a penalty near the end. I fell asleep.....
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best was Leic 3-1 Derby and worst was Leic 1-1 Sheff Wed it was raining and wind was blowing it towards where I sat ended up with a cold next morning!
Knightonian Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best was probably my first ever game in about 1990/91. Against Newcastle, we won 5-4 . Worst was probably Villa 5-0 .
Muz Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Worst one ive been to is a toss up between Stoke away this season ( froze my balls off! ) and Wolves away in our last Prem season. Im going to have to go for Wolves away being 3-0 up half time only to chuck it away and then get stuck in a traffic jam on the way back home was shocking Best was the same as Chaino's the 3-3 draw with Arsenal - Football at its best
Durnerz Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best was probably Charlton away, knocking out a prem side on their own patch and grabbing a late winner to send the fans wild, plus the atmosphere was electric in the away end. Worst.....a toss up between Southampton at home (4-0) in 01/02 when I was in the upper tier of the kop freezing my balls off and watching us look a dull and lifeless side whilst letting a hardly brilliant saints side piss on us. Also the 5-0 at home to Villa 03/04, never have I seen in any match a side concede that many in such a short space of time.
Shum Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best games for me: When City beat Spurs at Filbert Street.. with all the don't go MON banners... and the 3-3 draw with Arsenal. Worst games are 5-0 defeats to Villa and Bolton!
Guest CL Blue Army Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Worse - Leicester loosing to Bolton 5-0! Villa 5 - 0 Leicester Best - Leicester against Red Star Belgrade in Vienna despite loosing! Great atmosphere. But the game against Crytal Palace in the Final where Claridge scored in the last minute and also the 3-3 drew like Chainy said.
TrickyTrev Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best was the 3-3 game with Arsenal, evrything you want want from a game fo football and it was just a pleasure to see Dennis Bergkamp at his best. Made all the more sweeter by the fect it wasn't enough to beat us, get in their Walshie. The worst game was definately our 1-0 win against Crewe in The league Cup either last year or the year before. The ground was half empty and you could hear a pin drop it was that quiet. Although we won it was our only shot on goal and we only got that from a dodgy penalty. Never been so bored in my life.
Dave_7 Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Worse one this yea.....well theres a few. losing to Watford by a common last minute goal really pissed me off. the rotherham match was just criminal
Wellman Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best...Charlton away this year was quite good Worst...5-0 to Bolton on the first day of the season and 5-0 Villa
Nationwider Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 I'll probably change my mind later on.... Best - City/Palace play-off final for the sheer drama of it. Worst - too many in the Bryan Hamilton days to choose just one. City 0 Shrewsbury 1???
Cat Burger Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Worst.....a toss up between Southampton at home (4-0) in 01/02 when I was in the upper tier of the kop freezing my balls off and watching us look a dull and lifeless side whilst letting a hardly brilliant saints side piss on us. Also the 5-0 at home to Villa 03/04, never have I seen in any match a side concede that many in such a short space of time. 123968 I would write exactly that aswell for worst For best haven't been lucky with the games I've chosen to go to, has to be Leeds home season before last....
Bert Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 best - When we beat Villa in the wortho cup semi final 1-0 at filbo with big matty scoring the winner in the 43rd minute!! worst - when we drew 1-1 with blackburn on tht foggy day - i just couldn't see!!!
Durnerz Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 best - When we beat Villa in the wortho cup semi final 1-0 at filbo with big matty scoring the winner in the 43rd minute!!worst - when we drew 1-1 with blackburn on tht foggy day - i just couldn't see!!! 124032 That was my first ever league game, thank god all the goals came at my end
Sparky Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 best - city beating liverpool 2-0 at home when muzzy sealed it late on and 3-3 draw with arsenal worst - plymouth 0-0 this season and wimbledon away in 94 , we lost 2-1 and were down to 9 men after 20 minutes
computingelite Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 best was seeing us beat Derby 4-0 at Pride Park and watching the home fans leave shortly after half time Though that game is a close tie with the one when we beat Crystal Palace at away in the semi final of the worthington cup... think it was Simon Grayson who headed in the winner, then we went on to beat Spurs at a replay after a draw at Wembley.. I can't remember where the rematch was held, it might have been at Sheffield Wednesday's ground. worst was seeing us get robbed by Swindon in the play off final at Wembley.
Guest Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best - so many to choose from, like sitting in the Kop at Anfield and seeing us taking the lead after 40-50 seconds, the play-off's against Derby and Palace, the Arsenal 3-3, etc, but I'd go for the 5-0 win over Cambridge United to get to the play-off final. A year before we'd escaped relegation, and this meant we were one game away from that new fangled Premiership malarkey, plus the first trip to Wembley in my lifetime!! Worst - Again, there have been many downers, but the one that takes the prize is the 4-3 defeat at Molineux; I saw it coming, that's what made it worse!!
Anish Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best - toss up between 1996 Playoff final and the last ever league game at Filbo - 2-1 against Spurs. Worst - LCFC 0-5 Bolton - utter garbage, total disgrace. There were also the shambolic 3-1 defeats at home to Coventry and Bradford that season too under the guidance of Taylor. Funnily enough the 0-5 against Villa last season doesn't bother me so much because Villa were clearly a better team than us, whereas Bolton, Coventry, and Bradford were much worse than us during that time.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best: beating Derby in the playoff final...that was sweet! Worst was a game against Sheff united we lost 5 - 2 and Martin Hodge got taken off twice after a bang on the head leaving Richard Smith in goal. This was made worse as it was my birthday and my name was on the scoreboard!
Ultra Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best - 2-1 v Derby 94. Our first EVER win at Wembley, achieved against all the odds - superb. Worst - too many from last season spring to mind, but overall it has to be 0-3 v. Shrewsbury (yes Shrewsbury) in 1988. The scoreline didn't flatter them in any way. We really were THAT bad!
Craig Posted 16 June 2005 Posted 16 June 2005 Best was the 3-3 game with Arsenal, evrything you want want from a game fo football and it was just a pleasure to see Dennis Bergkamp at his best. Never been so bored in my life. 123995 Your maths is appauling. 32,500 / 2 = 15,250. There was around 27,675 there Nowhere near half empty, one of the biggest gates of the round if i recall correctly. I'd love us to get half full attendances like that next season.
C-man Posted 17 June 2005 Posted 17 June 2005 We've all been to them, a game so bad that you just have to laugh. Mine was a few seasons ago at home to Stoke. And their player shortly after? Best: Derby 0 Leicester 4 at prideless park 97. Quality first half blitz, loved every moment of it! Worst: Leicester 0 Brighton 1 - I felt like shooting myself after we created 0 chances against a Mark McGhee side, who rubbed it in by scoring their only of the game too
discojoe Posted 17 June 2005 Posted 17 June 2005 my best game was :- when we beat liverpool at home, izzets goal was quality and.. the worst game :- when we lost 5-0 to bolton on the opening game of the season
Hoof Fox Posted 17 June 2005 Posted 17 June 2005 Best Games : Derby 0 - 4 Leicester, by my reckoning we were 4-0 up after 15 minutes class. Leicester 5 - 0 Cambridge in play off semi. Leicester 2 - 1 Palace in play off final the drama was amazing and it kickstarted a fantastic era for the club. Leicester 1 - 0 Middlesboro in coca cola final our first major trophy in my lifetime fantastic ! Leicester 5 - 2 Shrewsbury FA cup quarter final at Filbo, more amazing because our keeper Mark Wallington came off injured and was replaced by forward Alan Young who then went off with concussion to be replaced by Steve Lynex. Worst Games Man City 5 - 0 Leicester FA Cup replay, one of MON's early games in charge we were shocking although Kinkladze scored one of the best goals I have ever witnessed. Surprised nobody has mentioned the cup quarter final against Wycombe ! To be honest any game Leicester get beaten in is a bad one to me.
