Itsthejoeker Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 I keep thinking this thread is called "Sven on fire live tonight"
topharry123 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Claridge sounds like an idiot "Leicester got 17 points in their final however many games i'm not convinced" ....yeah don't know if you've noticed Steve but we've brought in about 10 quality players since then with more to come. What is his problem, any other club he'd have said the opposite.
John Matrix Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 funny that there's been hardly any detrimental attention to the money liverpool are jizzing up the wall
Happy Fox Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Hahahahaaaa a Leicester fan has just text in asking for Claridge to cut us some slack, but he still couldn't bring himself too. 17 points in 19 games or something, reckons we spent loads of money last season (we didn't as they were loans, granted we should have done better) he fails to acknowledge that Sven's form as a manager if he was here for 46 games would have put us in the play-offs I believe. TWAT! You know what they call people like Clarridge as stubborn as a donkey, no offence Clarridge but I hope we will prove you wrong, and p.s you can forget about joining in the promotion party you are not welcome
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Claridge is just jealous that his managerial career spanned just 5 years
Salieri Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Just gotta face facts that with the wealth comes the jealousy, but who gives a shit if anyone likes us?
Ric Flair Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 He wasn't going wild about West Ham spending all that dough on Nolan were they and overkilling it with Faye, Matty Taylor and others. What a trump knocker.
themotivator Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 There was a period of time when i genuinely thought Super Stevie Claridge was some kind of god. now he just annoys me. :I I bet he's still a pearson fan. (sorry about the massive image. i just think a hair do as bad as that deserves to be named and shamed)
Kent Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Everyone seems to be mentioning us as favourites before West Ham which seems strange to me with the squad they already have.
themotivator Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 If I was a Coventry fan i'd be worried. what because they are playing the mighty leicester on saturday or simply because they are coventry fans?
Finchy Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 what because they are playing the mighty leicester on saturday or simply because they are coventry fans? Just in general really, i'd always be worried.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 what because they are playing the mighty leicester on saturday or simply because they are coventry fans? The latter, I think. Howeeever, wouldn't it just be us to lose there on Satdeh? OK, no, can't happen. 0-3 at least.

OK, no, can't happen. 0-3 at least. i agree. im confident but im not confident. we can never really be confident as leicester fans. lets just hope sven can fool the players into believing in themselves this year eh
B52 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 No you don't, but at the same time thinking you can go up THIS season without bringing in quality players that might cost you money is ludicrous. The teams that have gone up in the past on a budget didn't have the expectations that we have, we WANT success immediately and therefore you've got to spend money. Clubs in this league know we have money so we've got to spend a fair amount to sign proven Championship players. I'm getting really cheesed off with this tag that's being labelled all over us, if you take away Matt Mills who was the Championships best centre half last season then we've spent fairly moderately given how many players we needed to bring in due to the loan deals expiring. Danns, Pantsil, Nugent have cost us nothing in transfer fees and St Ledger, Koncheskey, Schmeichel and Peltier were all decent prices considering their potential and experience. We could quite easily not spend what we've spent and have to hope that team spirit get's us through or that we unearth some quality to get us there but why when we have the backing? I enjoy a Weatherspoons farmhouse breakfast like the next man, but the place stinks of piss so shoot me for going up the strip club instead for my bacon sandwich. Great post, I don'rt know how some fans seem to think. We have a great team but we have three teams from PL with a lot more cash than we have. A quick assembled first team with only a few "old" players. And at the beginning we had a very thin squad. When we were bought it seems as we didn't have enough players..... A fair few of the regular Championship teams have enough quality to challange for play offs. This means that we have a harder task in front of us. I don't get it. I'm an optimist but think we'll have a hard time to get to PL. On the other side we have pessimists that seems to think we'll ge relegated.... Why do people complain so much about things they can't do anything about... Join the joyride instead and use your stack of happy pills..
accessory Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Great post, I don'rt know how some fans seem to think. We have a great team but we have three teams from PL with a lot more cash than we have. Ermm, no we don't.. Birmingham's cash is tied up in Hong Kong right now, and their players have left in droves. Blackpool's big names have gone too, so they're unlikely to threaten us either. A fair few of the regular Championship teams have enough quality to challange for play offs. This means that we have a harder task in front of us.I'm sure there will indeed be a dogfight. But it may not concern us, if our top-two spot is already booked (though we may need a couple more strikers for that.. I don't get it. I'm an optimist but think we'll have a hard time to get to PL. On the other side we have pessimists that seems to think we'll get relegated.... I don't think anyone on here has actually come out and said that. It shouldn't even be a possibility.

When we buy ten players it is just to get a full squd of players... Others, journos or whatever.., seems to think we have bought the league when the only thing we have done is make it more difficult.
Master Fox Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Steve Claridge suffers from small man syndrome. He's incredibly ugly and grotesquely thick. He seems to struggle to pull a coherent sentence together without dribbling saliva down the side of his cheeks. This man hasn't the faintest idea of what is happening in the world around him. His lack of knowledge about the game is hideous given the fact he's employed as a 'pundit' for the BBC football league show. It's unfortunate he as such little experience of the premier league and the higher end of the football spectrum. It's quite obvious he has absolutely no idea what our club intends to achieve and the work that is being put in to make it happen. Steve Claridge can go F* ck himself. Clearly a massive cretin,
sdb Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 I'm feeling a bit 'stuck in the middle' reading this thread. On one side is one of my heroes who appears to be acting a complete pillock towards the club at the moment. Not especially nice, and a real shame given his time at LCFC. On the other side are fans suffering delusions of grandeur before a ball's even been kicked. Let's just hope the players do their talking on the field this season.
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 As a player - A legend Pundit - Absolute twat.
