Uncle Albert Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 I was hoping either Phube, lildave, Matt, Corky or Albert may be able to show me it, to be honest.. What would be the point? After 6 games. Yea that would be well worth it. Funny thing is Yanited have played Liverpool and Chelsea. Arsenal played any of the big four yet? Are Chelsea and Liverpool unbeaten? Are Arsenal? Who did Arsenal lose to? Cannot wait till Arsenal actually play a decent team this season.

All too easy, it really is. And it's 5 games, not 6.. Fabulous, Man United have played 2 of the so-called "big four", and taken a point. Without looking special at all. Infact, minus Ronaldo this season they've been awful. Why anyone would fear how they've been this season so far is beyond me. Same goes for Liverpool. Inconsistent should be their nickname. Hot and cold all the while, and an awful Man United team aside, they've not exactly had a difficult start to the campaign have they?? FA darlings Chelsea have had it harder, but not by much. Another poor Yanited team showed up to play them, and that game aside only Man City have been a decent game to test them in. It's all relative. Arsenal have scored 10 goals in their last 3 games (2 away) and playing some beautiful football. Fact remains that Arsenal are top of the table. Bless.

Yanited have played 2 of the top 4 and they have only played 4 games this season. So 5 points doesnt seem so bad. Liverpool may well be inconsistent but they are still only a point behind Arsenal, who have had such an easy run compared to Liverpool andChelsea. Chelsea have played alot better football this season than Arsenal. Arsenal played the easier teams out of the top four and yet they are only a point ahead, says it all. Arsenal lost to Fulham. Rofl. We will see, all in goodtime. Bless. Ow ah. Ronaldo is back spread the news.

We will see, all in goodtime. Bless. Ow ah. Ronaldo is back spread the news. Come again?! 2 of the top 4 they may have played, but it's irrelevant really. They were absolutely dog in both and lucky to escape with a point. I'm pretty sure Yanited played Newcastle at home as well and drew 1-1? The same Newcastle team which were raped by Arsenal at St James'. Hmm. Liverpool have played Sunderland and Middlesborough. Wouldn't exactly call them difficult games myself, but Liverpool were very, very lucky to escape with 6 points from those games. The game against Villa was a drab affair and showed that Liverpool lack creativity all too often. Yes they beat Man United, but it was a dog awful Man United, not the fearsome opposition Liverpool and England have known in recent times. And they then proceeded to draw with Stoke. Yeah I see what you mean, they sound a frightening proposition . Scored 5 in 5 games this season, iirc? Chelsea are slightly different, a win at Wigan (yes, an absolutely AWESOME side, by all accounts). They comfortably beat Pompey and beat Man City, which is fair enough. They managed a draw with Spurs, who really can't buy anything at present (equivalent of playing Newcastle at the minute, would you say??) and a draw with another poor Man United side. Arsenal, meanwhile, have played West Brom and Newcastle (who drew with Man United away first up) at home, and beat both quite comfortably really. Their other 3 games have been played away, at Fulham, Blackburn (no mugs at home) and Bolton (their bogey team in recent times, especially at the Reebok). A record of 2 wins and a defeat away from home, scoring 7 and conceding 2. The Fulham game aside, Arsenal haven't really looked like dropping points at all this season and have been full value for their wins. The only things you can find to devalue Arsenal sitting atop the table are the fact they haven't played a piss-poor Man United side yet, and they've had an easier start than Chelsea or Liverpool? Which is bull in itself but hey whatever helps you sleep at night. Oh, and on the Ronaldo issue, can't wait to see how he fares this season. I know he's only coming back from injury at the min, but he was just as poor as everyone else for Yanited on Sunday.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Chelsea away to Wigan and Man City. Hard places to go. And Chelsea breezed through them. You make me laugh a poor Yanited side? Yes a team that fields Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov, Scholes and Hargreavs are such a poor team. Sorry. Liverpool started away at Sunderland another tough place to start a season. Middlesbrough who always turn it on against the big teams then away to Villa who are apparently everyone's favourites to break the top four. But they did beat a "piss poor" Yanited team that had Ferdinand, Vidic, Carrick, Scholes, Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez in. Piss poor that. Compared to Arsenal coming up against players like Muamba, Davies, Nolan, Guthrie, Keith Andrews. Yanited started slow last season and they have started better this season than 2007. And they had an easier start last year. And i'm sure Yanited dicked the League along with Chelsea. Anyways... I am sure we will be seeing a similar picture to this at the end of the season.

Wigan is not a hard place to go. Ever. Infact, since they've been in the Premiership, they've lost all but 1 home league game against the "top 4" sides, and are without a single win. Very hard, indeed. Man City is harder, yes, and I conceeded that Man City were the only team to test Chelsea so I don't get your persistance? I don't know, maybe you like to repeat yourself to make it easier for you to convince yourself that Chelsea are a super-team and they deserve to win games without turning up? Yes Man United have quality individuals in their squad, but collectively as a team this season they've been pretty poor. They've failed to get anything like a rythm going this season, and haven't really threatened to get out of first gear. There's no denying that once they do, they'll be a handful for just about every team in the world. But have they done it this season? Have they fuck, so yes, in respect of playing like a football team (not a bunch of individuals) they've been quite poor. How is that even a remotely unfair unassessment? With the greatest respect to your intelligence, how the hell is Sunderland a difficult place to start a season? As far as I'm aware, they have failed to beat any of the "top four" sides at home in the Premier League (I'll happily admit I'm wrong if it turns out I am) and aside from Spurs last year (where they scored in the 92nd minute), they have been poor starters themselves, losing more than they win on opening day? Hmm, I see your point. You may have half a point when it comes to Middlesborough as yes they do turn it on against the big teams, but in reality doesn't everyone try to do that? Middlesborough are just another Blackburn or Bolton. Teams that are mediocre at best, have some sparkling days but ultimately should be beaten, especially at home. How you can disagree with this is beyond me. I've already gone over the point about Man United's team-work in this post, so I won't do it again. It's funny though how you ramble on about the poor players Arsenal have come up against, yet you fail to mention the lack of quality in the Sunderland side which Liverpool beat. Sorry sweetheart.
Tilley Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 This is Arsenal's year. Last season they would not have won at Blackburn & Bolton, FACT.
lcfc_jme Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Still, Arsenal are brilliant right? Not brilliant, no. Good, but not brilliant (though they play brilliant stuff at times)..
Corky Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 I was hoping either Phube, lildave, Matt, Corky or Albert may be able to show me it, to be honest.. They have started well I'll grant you that, but there is a long way to go.
lcfc_jme Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 They have started well I'll grant you that, but there is a long way to go. That's all I wanted to hear in the first place. I am fully aware there is a long way to go. And I also remember what Arsenal did after looking like a force last season. It's just friendly banter, really. We're all Leicester at heart. Well, banter for most of us. It's an obsession for some people.. (not mentioning any names, eh Phube!)

Joe. Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 I am also not a fan of the arse. I am generally not a fan of any of the big four to be honest.
Fox You Forest Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 They always seem to be 2 or 3 players short to me, There a great watch when there on top form though.
lcfc_jme Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 I already know. And so modest, as well. Fantastic.
Bert Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 This is Arsenal's year.Last season they would not have won at Blackburn & Bolton, FACT. Even though they did actually beat Bolton? Drew with Blackburn but still. Arse were awesome for the first half of the (last) season, had a massive lead and blew it, it's a marathon not a sprint. Arsenal are looking good, but they don't have what Man Utd and Chelsea have - strength in depth. I would much rather have the choice of bringing on someone like Park Ji Sung than Aaron Ramsay.
Phube Posted 23 September 2008 Author Posted 23 September 2008 Well, banter for most of us. It's an obsession for some people.. (not mentioning any names, eh Phube!) Moi?! Never!! Wii first! Always!
