Rincewind Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Went to a greet and meet session at the Leicester University. It was to do with cleaning jobs that are coming up there. There were 3 groups and in our group there was about a dozen. There was a little presentation about the University and what standard is expected off the workers. There were some staff there where we could ask questions about what it was like working there etc. We then went into a computer room where our details were logged. We were told the vacancies about 14 would be advertised from next Monday and we would receive an email with a link to apply for the job. There were some that never turned up so I reckon there would be 40-50 applicants today which gives me something like one in three chance. It seems a good place to work in. And as I'll be an employee of the University I may have access to the facilities like the library maybe even a PC and get help with my word processing of my book. It would also give me time to try for my SIA door supervisors badge and maybe do that part time at the Uni at their functions. But maybe that is all wishful thinking. I have to get the job first. I am lagging behind some on experience but ahead on others with my willingness to do a good job and realiabilty because of my previous job. I am sorta optimistic with a touch of pessimistic realism.
rico Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Good luck mate hope you get it i went for a similar job when i got made redundant a couple of years back and they had over 100 applicants, they took us around in groups of 20 i never got the job though
Smudge Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 No disrespect Nightie but your admirable ambitions aren't quite in sync with your signature. Edit Oh best of luck with it though!
Rincewind Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 You mean Universities are alcohol free zones now? What will students do when not sleeping?
Smudge Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 You mean Universities are alcohol free zones now? What will students do when not sleeping? No but having a six pack of Batemans XXX on your trolley might not impress the Dean
