Happy Fox Posted 16 September 2011 Author Posted 16 September 2011 He's been asked the question and is trying to answer it the best way he can, I doubt he's come out just to say his job is/isn't under threat. Fair enough
Babylon Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Yes but he puts himself in situations that are easily avoidable, I do like his honest and open approach however do you think it was wise of Sven to comment about his job on the line? I don't care, it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to anything. As I have already said, has he said "no comment" someone would be on here having a pop about not making a comment.

Dr The Singh Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Nothing unusual TBH, he's been asked a question and he's answered it. If your in a high profile position and your not being successsful you expect to be asked these questions, and to be fair he has answered as you expect. This is football media, it's so predictable. In terms of pressure, the longer the success rate is poor the more pressure, and as a professional he is not going to show that in public infact he isn;t going to change anything, as it will in turn cause choas and add pressure to the rest of the team. I can't for one understand why this interview is anything beyond the norm for a club like us, manager like ours and situation like ours!!!
cc_star Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Sven brushes off sack speculation? Good, he's got a job to do! When it comes down to it, t's the owners decision, and if they're happy as they seemed the other day (unless that was the vote of confidence) then that's that There is of course the chance that they'll think things aren't improving & Sven isn't the man to take these players forward, but that time isn't now, maybe the international break next month, maybe the end of the season.

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Quick quick lets all rush to slam the manager about nothing again and rip into every little word he says. Sad, very very sad. Quick quick let's start glossing over the fact that we have had a pretty poor start to the season. And let's accuse anyone who wants to be concerned about this as being 'non-fans' and too critical... Sad, very very sad.

"but we're only x points from the playoffs & xx points from top, it's only 6 games!!!" *ignoring the fact that the gap is growing not closing*
JadeFalcon Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 all i can say is sheep need to be lead by a sheepdog, the said dog being newspapers i knew this was going to be the case as soon as sven came in, people expect and people want, some people need to start understanding the very basics of football before calling for peoples heads. **** right off, ****ing idiots, you sack sven we will be back to square ****ing one, bloody idiots, you really are a bunch of brain dead tossers if you think getting rid of sven will suddenly take us anywhere. omfg,

And let's accuse anyone who wants to be concerned about this as being 'non-fans' and too critical... Sad, very very sad. What has our poor start to the season got to do with this thread, and all the other recent thread taking petty pot shots at the manager? If people want to moan about things he has done like his tactics, subs, selections, signings that's fine. Starting to critisise and moan at every little pointless thing he has said is just pathetic, and it's always the same people... shocker!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Yes pressure. Just because someone earns a lot of money doesn't mean they are oblivious to it. A relative of mine was until recently a famous sportsman in a high profile sport, speaking from experience of knowing him to say he doesn't feel the pressure of expectation from fans and employers just because he earns a few quid more than normal is nonsense. It's all relative (no pun intended) as you well know.. Earning 15k a week for three years, paid into your bank account whether you play or not is the same as, say a tennis player or a snooker player who only gets prize money for winning something. That must be pressurising.. To actually know that you have to perform well and improve to get paid. Still maintain that even the lesser paid soccer players must be completely laughing at the ridiculous levels of money they are on.. Woodgate, Dyer, Bullard... To name but a few... Stupid stupid money Pressure... Bollox

What the hell are you banging on about, have you lost your bloody marbles or something. Have I tried to delete their posts, close their threads or something? If some idiot wants to get their knickers in a twist about absolutely nothing then they can knock themselves out, it doesn't stop me from posting my point of view that it's pathetic. Sounds to me like you're still bitter about someone merging your threads. ? PM = personal message

Corky Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Sven knows what it's about, he's been in the game a long time. Get results and soon the speculation will disappear.
sphericalfox Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Sven knows what it's about, he's been in the game a long time. Get results and soon the speculation will disappear. Not for those individuals who are fans of the 'Next Factor'. Also the media won't give up the hunt for Sven's head. They've succeeded in the past, and they'll want the scalp of Sven to add to their front/back pages like savage trophy hunters. There's something unsatisfactory about the media culture's interest and satisfaction in dethroning anyone with any element of stature or success. They won't be happy until he's failed.
Guest shearfox Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 I'm fully behind Sven and I'm fed up with the manager-go-round, hasn't helped us in the past 10 years so it won't help us now. Sven is a class manager and he will get us to the PL.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Usually when a manager denies speculation about the sack, it means likelihood is he be a goner if we don't win on Saturday and put some results on the board, not impressed by Sven's open admission of players feeling the pressure, coming out like that will surely add to the pressure being put on the players, not wise on the whole a bit of tact is required Sven! Oh, you UNHAPPY Fox. All doom and gloom!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Yes but he puts himself in situations that are easily avoidable, I do like his honest and open approach however do you think it was wise of Sven to comment about his job on the line? Right, now you are Sven. Tell us all how you would handle the situation. Remember, the Press are going to jump on you at the first chance. Looking forward to your answer " Happy Sven" :crylaugh:
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Give him fackin TIME. The reason for our mediocrity for nearly a decade is due to sacking managers left right and centre.

That is true yes, but I think the majority would be fully behind him if we'd started with better results. We'll hopefully see a reaction after a run of good results to see what fans truly want.
1991FOX Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Sven has 6 games starting tomorrow. If were not in the top 3 or there abouts hes out. Also, MON has been contacted. How did i come across this? Well, I know someone working at the club. They'd organised for me to go to watch the players train this week, get a few autographs and have a chat with a few of the lads and sven. The day I was supposed to go down this week I was told its got to be delayed because 'there is too much going on behind the scenes atm.' And today I was told the details. Pressure is on
