davieG Posted 22 September 2011 Author Posted 22 September 2011 I'd like to repeat that I am almost 100% sure that this has nothing to do with "overreactions to decisions" or anything like that, it is purely a formality if a team receives 5 yellow cards in one match. Which Brighton did. Wasn't it 4 yellows each and I though the 5 card situation was automatic and didn't require the team to provide a reply.
ScouseFox Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Wasn't it 4 yellows each and I though the 5 card situation was automatic and didn't require the team to provide a reply. Pretty sure they got 5, and like I said I'm not 100% sure but I'd like to think so anyway haha, if they're actually being charged for kicking off/not respecting officials etc then yes, it's a joke.
stockyfox Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 To be fair to the FA they have offered to trial new technology but it's FIFA and UEFA that keep blocking it. Even with referees the guidelines are laid down by FIFA. In fact the FA are fairly toothless and I'm sure if they didn't bring in these charges then UEFA/FIFA would have something to say about. The FA died when the Premier League was formed. Thanks for that, DavieG. I suppose that means we have super daleks and super-duper daleks. No wonder fans everywhere get annoyed with the abysmal standard of refereeing we have to put up with - and it's not just Foxes fans.
nothin2seehere Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 It's easy to find out how many yellows they got. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/14864133.stm Yes, they did.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 I sincerely hope they are only charged in relation to the 5 yellows. They protested no more than an average team on a Saturday afternoon. The FA can't be handing out these fines willy nilly. I still find it bizarre we've been charged for the Barnsley game. I had a job even remembering that 'incident' and that's saying something considering the football that day. But back to the point, its all or nothing. There has to be a complete crackdown as have been suggested with fines for any complaints or yellow cards to any protests. But this is just double standards, no wonder there's so much hatred towards referees and the FA when teams are charged for things like this
RowlattsFox Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 I thought you just got a letter warning you on future behaviour for 5 yellows, not an actual FA fine.

Im sure someone is going to bring up ..what of it costs you promotions etc etc... too bad! you will have received a dodgy decision during the season that gave you a chance at promotion. Just let it go, play the game, let the ref decide and then complain or cheer about it on FT.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 The F.A. are making themselves look ridiculous these days.

Bloody hell, we've got a hell of alot of luck coming our way soon then because the silly mistakes that have been made in oppositions favour so far this this season has been unbelievable. And we are only 7, Yes, 7 games in! Don't get me wrong I made a thread after the Forest game (Think it was the Forest game) saying yes the referee made controversial decisions, mistakes some people may say, but it does annoy me when people blame the referee for losses of games, referees do not soley lose games for teams, people need to open their eyes are realise that, however the silly mistakes that are getting more and more common do not help and ruin the game, then the players and fans are being told to respect someone/thing for making a poor decision, which I personally find very hypocritical. I'll respect the FA and Referees when they use some common sense and respect the game, the fans and the players. You earn respect, and neither have earnt anything imo. I/We pay good money to see football, it's bad enough when the team you support play poor but when bad decisions also ruin a game it's even more sickening. I understand referees have a hard job, it's about time they had some help. The options are their but they are not used.

I thought you just got a letter warning you on future behaviour for 5 yellows, not an actual FA fine. Five yellow cards in a single game is an automatic fine, and is at any 'proper' level of football (proper meaning step 7 and above where you have at least a level 4 referee and neutral assistants). I doubt that this is it because you can't appeal the fine. Unless it's customary for the club to respond, usually by saying yeah sorry won't happen again until next time we play.
