I wore 3 coats. Still got soaked to the skin. But, it was worth it! We're winning in the rain, just winning in the rain!!
Thracian Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 I wish our pitch was like those sometimes. It would sure liven things up. Sixties pitches were often pretty grim. Deep mud, surface water, snow....today's pampered players have it so easy. Graham Cross was particularly effective in such conditions - he must have had one of the longest slide tackles in football on the waterlogged pitch. Ah - football to stir the soul!
