    Mahrez to Man City shock

To counter this - it's also important that we are not perceived by potential players (and their agents) as a club who are unwilling to sell. This will stop players from joining in the first place. It's not about ceding that we are a "small time selling club" but realising that we are not in the same league as the absolute elite but want to be an as attractive as possible proposition for players looking to make the leap to elite.

    Unpopular Opinions You Hold

Nick Clegg was a decent politician and remains an eminently sensible political commentator. My feeling is that he found himself in an almost impossible situation at the point he formed the coalition government (Mervyn King telling him that the UK, European and (potentially) global economy was hanging in the balance). He sacrificed himself and his political party for the sake of the country. Not something the current incumbents of office and shadow office seem to be willing to do. Clearly, question marks hang over his judgement and role in that government. But, I don't think that should totally besmirch his work until that point, nor overshadow some of the good work he did in office - including his softening of Cameron's austerity cuts. Is that unpopular? It probably is.

Russia: Should England boycott the World Cup?

I disagree with the notion that sport and politics should not mix. It's an incredibly effective way of getting public engagement with political issues. Especially where other more traditional routes are not working. However, I am not convinced that England boycotting this World Cup would make much of a statement in isolation. If Russia's alleged actions over the last few years are proven then I believe that there should be a greater calling across the world for some response. Once you have several teams boycotting (especially if they are big nations), then sport has the real ability to make a real difference on a political level.
  5. Really great to have him back. Seems like an intelligent and grounded chap. When he is a fully fit and confident footballer, he is a very good footballer. Coincidentally I'm currently in hospital and have been here for a week with a kidney infection. It's pretty horrendous.

    Football Podcasts - Recommendations Please

The Guardian's "Football Weekly" has been a mainstay of my podcasts for many years. However, as football 365 have reported (http://www.football365.com/news/exclusive-james-richardson-to-leave-guardian-football-weekly) James Richardson, the host, is leaving to join Muddy Knees Media. Muddy Knees Media will produce the ‘The Totally Football Show’, a podcast using Richardson as host with a focus on the Premier League and European football. I would hazard a guess that this new show will be worth a listen. I'd also suggest giving the new format of "Football Weekly" a go - it's likely to still be good. If you want something very loosely connected to football but high on entertainment value try "Athletico Mince".

Should the Iheanacho threads be merged?

This is really exciting. Will they? Won't they? I just don't know. Either way, I'm fully invested in the outcome.

    Gylfi Sigurdsson

Fair enough, it looks like an offer may have been put in by us. Albeit, it was speculative at best.

    Gylfi Sigurdsson

https://www.theguardian.com/football/who-scored-blog/2017/jul/26/gylfi-sigurdsson-everton-swansea-transfer-window Interesting read. Looks like we are likely to miss out on him, perhaps that's no bad thing at that price.

    N'Golo Kante - Confirmed - £32m to Chelsea

Good luck to Kante. Wonderful player and I feel privileged to have watched him in Leicester blue. It's unfortunate our journey together has ended - perhaps prematurely - but his contribution to last season should never be forgotten!

    Can Leicester survive without Kante?

    That's a poorly written article
