davieG Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 I'm not interested or excited by this rumour, in fact I hope it's just that. If we're looking for a high tempo game giving the ball to Mac would just slow it down, maybe alright to bring on for the last ten minutes if we're in a winning position - but that would be a high price to pay, besides he'd be gone this time next year.
filbertway Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 Leicester City are ready to rival Norwich for Midfielder Steve Mcmannaman.Foxes boss Craig Levein is keen to add experience to his squad over the summer and see's the former Real Madrid man as a good option. Recent reports claim that the Liverpoodlian is a target for Leicester, with Mcmannaman yet to find a club after being released by Man City. The once Champions league winner is struggleing to find a club with his high wage demands but Leicester would be a good option for him with a coach role available. The left sided player has said "There have been a few clubs interested, I have had a chat with Ben (Thatcher) and he speaks very highly of Leicester and I am looking foward to meeting Craig (Levein) this week." But while Levein may hold an interest, he could baulk at the money demanded by the former Liverpool man. Interesting 127844 Where did you read this then?
Little Nicky Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 This strikes me as a very odd suggestion, if someone could tell me why we need Tiatto, Wilcox and Steve McManaman then I might fathom it! Please not another 30 something on the left hand side!

supedaj Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 exactly i dont think he'll have the same desire or hunger like some of the others CL tries to sign. He can now be classed as a journeyman appraoching the tail end of his playing career with nothing much else to prove. With what his wages may be this is the last person we should sign...
Ricey Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 That is the worst attempt I've ever seen to lie about a rumour.
Anish Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 It's spelt Liverpudlian usually I think aswell. 127868 good spot Ryan!
Leicester_Mad Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 Liverpoodlian ! Doesnt he play on the right though not the left?
Hitesh Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 I think that this is going to be like another Keith Gillespie. Everyone thought that when KG joined he would be a great player etc but ended up not living up to his expectations. IMO, Steve McMannaman is worse and i dont think he will do much if he does come. Im not excited by this rumour at all and i would rather Levein spent the money of someone younger and give them the chance to show potential.
Teeno Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 Why do you lot have to be so critical Just thought I'd excite things
Hitesh Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 Why do you lot have to be so critical Just thought I'd excite things 127918 Fair comment, but im struggling to find postives on him that he would be able to bring to the squad. He was injured most of last season and therefore lack match fitness and i dont think that he would bring a great deal of experience. What would he be able to say? "in Madrid, i learnt how to warm the bench and earn £80k per week". Ok, that is an exageeration and he was a decent player and maybe im being a bit harsh. However, we have a wealth of experience in Dion and Tiatto and a few others.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 I seen them Fowler & McMannaman both come out of Maryland chicken in Leicester with some chicken wings, chips and coke. They then both got into a Ferrari with McMannaman and ate their food then they both drove off with McMannaman driving.

Wouldnt want greasy stains on the upholstry.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 Neh dont think they did, when they finished they even open their doors and put the boxes underneath the Ferrari and drove off. Litter louts!

We've still got to replace him and that won't be easy.
Cat Burger Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 'Here Robbie we've 'ad our maryland, warrer buy an 'ouse?'
Fox Shagger Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 I saw briane deane outside maryland just before his transfer to west ham. seems to be a popular choice among footballers
Cat Burger Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 I saw Mary poppins outside Mary land!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH
Newcastle_Fox Posted 27 June 2005 Posted 27 June 2005 Last season I seen the Sunderland & Wigan yeam coach's stop outside Maryland and all the players got out and ordered. It must be the secret Maryland recipe that has taken them to the Premiership.
Hitesh Posted 27 June 2005 Posted 27 June 2005 You gotta love all those cheap Summer rumours... 128151 Well people need something to keep them going during the drought of football. Some people live on these rumours just to keep them ticking. For some, going without football for long periods can have these effects.
alf Posted 27 June 2005 Posted 27 June 2005 My mate has just seen him driving through Earl Shilton towards Leicseter in his red Ferrari number plate "66 MAC"! Perhaps he is just looking to expand his property portfolio though and Shilton is the biggest slum out side of scouseland!!!!
