when we did a stadium tour they said couple players live over in the new apartments over the river..

i have a friend/ former work collegue who lived there and she said she lived in the same building as sven.

this thread is quite dodgy though. probably not "cool" really mate

how is it dodgy.. if it was an longer standning member asking the question no one would bat an eye lid..

we talk about the players all the time, there cars, personal plates. its not as if they couldnt easy be found if someone was actually "dodgy".. there at the training ground or stadium most of the time..

Gally does live in Preston but not sure how the whole thing works (surely its not practical to drive 2.5 hours each way to training every other day?)

yer, but unless you are making a point about the fact gally and wellens have a big commute for each training session, why would yo need to know where players actually live? don't you think that their private lives are their business not ours. as long as they aren't in a crack den or something i dont see why its relavent. unless you want to wait outside their house for an autograph.

if you see someones car driving out the stadium/training ground and remember it, then that is a little different from finding out where they sleep at night.

just last week in one of the threads about a manager people was talking about mon house and how they was decorating it, didnt see anyone claim dodgy when someone asked where it was...

there not exactly asking for the exact house number someone lives are they, just a general curious where do they live..

many times people have said where certain players( maybe ex) live/d..

im not calling for the arrest of anybody mate. the o'neil house rumour was more relevant as it suggested he was moving back to leicester. nobody was trying to find out where he lived.

a general call for where do the players live is probably quite innocent. doesn't mean people should start dishing out peoples personal info.

would you like to disclose your full name and address to the world if you were a figure of public interest. especially one who could be the target of abuse from upset supporters?

half the threads on here could be deemed pointless.. its a leicester city forum, if the person wondered where they lived whats wrong in him asking.. from it we have already established gally lives in preston, which is something i never knew, i knew he lived up north as he car shares with wellens at times but never realised it was so far so so i have learned something new from this thread (without any danger or real invasion of privacy).

infact it also makes the "sven wanted players living nearer" rumour seem more reasonable now and that training could have been disrupted with players turning up late if they are coming from so far ( not sayin any of it is true or implying it was them but could see it could be)

Theres been quite a few posts about players travelling / commuting etc on here, so as I know the facts (as i speak to Mrs Gally through work) i thought i'd whack em on 'ere !!!!

Family Gally do live up in "that north" yes, they also have a place in Florida. During the week Paul does not travel from either of his homes because as is often mentioned on here, thats a lot of miles per week, especially from the Florida home!!!!

Once Gally was settled into our club he bought an apartment down here to ease the travelling time etc which is where he stays during the week.

This is a pretty common thing in football these days. Why would you up root your family in todays volatile game, one week you are the bosses favourite the next day you could be shipped out on loan to the back of beyond. In the old days players were asked to move nearer their club but that doesnt go on so much now and rightly so. It would be harsh to move a young family out of school, home, and away from friends wouldnt it?

When Michael Brown was at Pimpey he travelled up and down from Manchester every other day (his choice and they got relegated) whereas people like Ian Woan who was coach there had a house down there during the week with a couple of other players rather than travel up and down to N*ttingham everyday. Makes sense really.

I think people question the commitment of players if they arent perceived to live within 5 minutes of the ground, I personally don't give two hoots where they live as long as they turn up on a match day and perform. I doubt many of us live in the town we work.

i think (though i might be wrong) that sol bamba now lives in barrow-upon-soar. my sister is a letting agent around the charnwood area and she told me about it :thumbup: .

oh and tom kennedy used to live in rothley, same source
