FoxyPV Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Good results for the Irish teams yesterday. Two wins and a draw. The Munster match was a fantastic advertisement for rugby. Brilliant defence from both teams. I thought N'hampton were going to storm it in the second half but what a finish!
The Doctor Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 I still can't hear Munster without thinking of this:
Finnegan Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Massive win for us yesterday. This really is the group of death and we're going to have to win all of our home games to get out of it.
Phube Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Massive win for us yesterday. This really is the group of death and we're going to have to win all of our home games to get out of it. Who's "we" for you?
Finnegan Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Who's "we" for you? Why, good old Sosban Fach, of course.

Can't see Scarlets winning in Northampton or Munster. But bonus points may hold the key to qualifying from that group.

FoxyPV Posted 20 November 2011 Author Posted 20 November 2011 Ulster fall to defeat against the Tigers. Munster wait for injury time again to win. Connaught aren't going to do much. Leinster on their way to victory.
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Glad to see Munster fail to pick up a bonus point and amazed we did against Saints, that's another enormous win for us. Could have done without their last minute try, though, took them to within 7. Munster at home is going to be what makes or breaks our European campaign this year, I think, we've come so close a few times in the league - got to make it count this time. I don't expect to take much from Thomond but a losing BP would be epic. Ospreys will be embarrassed with their result but I have to say it really is a great credit to Treviso, they've been fantastic over the last two seasons. Really, really promising for Italian rugby. Not looking too bright for the English sides! Or even the French, with the obvious exception of Toulouse.
FoxyPV Posted 20 November 2011 Author Posted 20 November 2011 Munster always looked like scoring a try but their defence in the first half was creaky at beat. Castre were all over them and Munster can't afford to go 11 down within the first 20 odd minutes if they want to make an impact on this competition. Missed the Ulster match but by all accounts they were unfortunate not to get a losing BP.

Their results in the Pro 12 show Saturday's result was no fluke. Aironi, though, were hammered at Clermont and look like being the group's whipping boys. Tigers will have to win at least one of the two remaining away games to make the last eight.

I know Tigers still have injury problems in the back line, but we still seem to be misfiring. We need to play eighty minute rugby, but it is not happening yet. Ben Youngs, however, made the team look more dangerous when he came on. Nice to see the lad back again.

Bert Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 He's Welsh? Think he's said before he's had Tigers season tickets.
Finnegan Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 How comes you support Llanelli and not Tigers? He's Welsh? Think he's said before he's had Tigers season tickets. Correct on both counts. I was born in the middle of Scarlets country. Wasn't particularly interested in football until we moved to Leicester, so city (as opposed to Swansea, I suppose) were always my first 'local' side but never really felt the case in rugby. I do (unlike most Welsh people!) like the Tigers, I do hope you win the league each year and - as Bert says - I used to go and watch them play quite a bit. But I don't really follow their results any more and I'd cheer on most Welsh sides against them but definitely, obviously, the Scarlets.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Was at Gloucester on Saturday. Good game and result.

davieG Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Anyone care to explain the purpose/existence of the 'Mark' rule. It just seems like it gives a team the chance to choose when to take a 'free' kick and take the pressure off themselves and is a totally unjustified advantage, obviously available to both teams - unless I'm missing something.

Encourages better, tactical kicking and the ball to be kept in hands around the 22. It's too easy to just chip a ball up in the air onto the try-line, even under pressure.

Is there anywhere you can't do it? Just seems like an optional kop out
Leicfox Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Pienaar's kicking has been brilliant, 3 scored from near the half way line. Tigers are getting walked over.

Just seems like an optional kop out It's only allowed in your own 22. I think the main reason is the keeping ball in hands reason tbh.
FoxyPV Posted 13 January 2012 Author Posted 13 January 2012 Tigers got mauled. Enough said. All my rugby mates will be wanking over this for quite some time.
