whoareyaaa Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 like I said its nothing compared to Spain.
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 like I said its nothing compared to Spain. And that's relevant to the quality of the league how?
whoareyaaa Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 And that's relevant to the quality of the league how? Whats the point of players diving, faking challanges. just pisses you off which adds to my point of the Prem being the better league to watch. look at Matta yesterday when he setup the 2nd goal for Chelsea if that was Ronaldo he would of been straight on the floor same goes with 90% of them, becauses its been built into their game over the years.

Mata* The same happens in the PL and doesn't happen half as much in Spain as you want to believe. I put Swansea Villa on at HT and it took me ten mins before I switched back to the Bundesliga game, absolute dross.
Jordan Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Look at the UEFA Cup then, Spain's mid table sides like Athletico Madrid stormed over Liverpool and Fulham on the way to the Europa league (and they did care about it) Stormed over? STORMED OVER?! They beat Fulham 2-1 in EXTRA TIME. Fvcking FULHAM. Fulham who, by the way, beat Juventus and Hamburg in that same tournament. Teams like Celta de Vigo, Madrid and Betis have been relegated, do you really think they lose to teams like Blackburn and Wigan? Teams like Leeds United and Newcastle United have been relegated in England. So, what's your point? Bolton and Everton have finished top 8 quite consistently here, they wouldnt make the top 12 in Spain. Sevilla wouldn't challenge for Champions League qualification in England. Espanyol wouldn't make the top 12 in England. Osasuna wouldn't avoid relegation in England. All of that are assumptions just like yours, but the game is played a little differently in England than it is in Spain. Tony Pulis would be salivating if he knew Stoke City were about to face one of the sides I mentioned. And there's nothing wrong with direct, physical play. By the way, it's not so often you'll find an English team dropping its first five Champions League group stage games and crashing out of the tournament in humiliating fashion. For all the talk about supposed English struggles in the Champions League, Arsenal have won their group (winning CL games despite terrible form at home for a while), Manchester United just need a point at Basel to reach the round of 16 and Chelsea go through with a win at home over Valencia (and can qualify with a draw and help). Man City are the only ones in an extremely precarious situation, needing a win and help, but in any case they're still better off than their Spanish counterparts in that group.
The Doctor Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Im not one of the brainwashed "SKY generation" ive been watchin football for over 25 years and wouldnt let Sky brainwash me into thinking any different than what I do. everyone BUMS barca because they win everything and Spain because they won the world cup this doesnt mean that the Spanish league is any better, nearly all the Barca players play for spain, hardly any other spanish players get a look in! Loads of players from the english league would walk into the spanish sides if we take Barca out of the equation. yep, because a upper mid-table La Liga player didn't just walk in and become a key player for the current premiership leaders. the facts regarding english CL finalists and later stages compared to spanish. and you will find that the point difference I was on about is correct and adds to my point that the Prem is a better league than the La Liga. even the championship is more exciting than LA Liga. The championship is far more exciting than the premiership so I don't see your point. one more thing to add which I hate about the spanish is the constant Rolling around on the floor, diving looking for fouls. GET ON WITH IT. Yep, because I know for certain the likes of Drogba never dive. Absolutely impossible, right? nice one for picking that out. I dont watch German football and dont intent to why would I ? how much football can one watch. and dont tell me the german league is better than the English please. Quality wise, about equal, number of winners in the last decade: Premiership - 3 - Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea Bundesliga - 5 - Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg. Nope, the German league is certainly not more exciting or interesting to watch . Quality wise equal, competitiveness better, treatment of fans - **** loads better. The German league shits all over the premiership anyway you look at it.
ScouseFox Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Saying Spain is better than England because Aguero is a key player here and apparently wasn't there is up there with the most laughable, idiot, ridiculous things i've ever read on here. Just so, so stupid.

Just so, so stupid. Indeed, which is why no-one has said that.
whoareyaaa Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Indeed, which is why no-one has said that. refer to MattP's post. who apparently knows the league inside out.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Super Sunday not been that super today has it?
whoareyaaa Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Liverpool game was a good watch esepcially 2nd half. Some great saves from Heart finally we have a solid english keeper!!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Thats the best game I've seen Hart play to be fair. The quality in Liverpools midfield is lacking. Charlie Adam and Downing only use their right foot for standing on. Henderson's the same with his left
whoareyaaa Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 I agree there deffenatly missing Gerrard and I dont rate Henderson at all, Charlie Adam is ok again nothing special good from set peices and thats about it. Downing has improved a lot over the last two seasons much better player than he was.
Jordan Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 The German league shits all over the premiership anyway you look at it. Yeah, except if one looks at it from the "which league has better teams and better players from top to bottom" angle.
Thracian Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 a) A competitive, equal opportunity, financial level playing field English Premier League where every team has a chance of winning it. Or b) Champions League success for English clubs. I I'm firmly with (a) and have been advocating it for years. I don't have SKY, cancelled it when I did have it. I don't watch much televised football at all and wouldn't care if I never watched it. I'd rather have watched a decent City reserves game than another canned Sky fixture. But we can't even do that now.
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Super Sunday? I've had more exciting shits, Bayern match is fantastic mind.
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Yeah, except if one looks at it from the "which league has better teams and better players from top to bottom" angle. Very Top Germany probably stronger when it look at what they did to Man City. Can be dreadful near the bottom though.
Jordan Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Very Top Germany probably stronger when it look at what they did to Man City. What about Manchester United vs Schalke last spring?
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 What about Manchester United vs Schalke last spring? 1st v 14th? (at the time)
ScouseFox Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Arsenal against Dortmund last week? Swings and roundabouts. One off results prove nothing.
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 like I said its nothing compared to Spain.
