When we played notts county in the zenith cup (90/91 ish) we took thousands. I dont remember the exact figure, but i reckon it was more than 8k.

Charlton when they played at Upton Park. Brain Little days....

That was the one that really stands out with me also. Remember standing in the terrace behind the goal watching what seemed like thousand pour into the main stand to my right, it seemed like we had nearly the entire ground unless I was a bit pissed and exaggerating it.

It was the days of Rooster russel and loads of people had bald Rooster wigs and the ticker tape was increadable.

Think we lost, cant remember the score but will never forget that away day.

Peterborough 1993 springs to mind, we took 8000 that day.

I think we took 10,000 to Luton for that 4-0 win in 1974 as well.

Orient

Charlton

Luton

Portsmouth

Blackburn

Fulham

Orient did we noty take 12k out of 13K

Oh and the train that arrived late and gate crashed :xmaslaugh: :xmaslaugh:

Peterborough away was 8000 it was a mad day ,i was in fear of my Citreon AX GT parked down the road.

I know we are not counting semi finals but Wimbledon away selhurst Park (coca cola) for a midweek game was large(i was seeing double mind)

Man Utd in the League Cup in 1993 we took 10,000.

I remember because I had to sit in a home stand and remember thinking how great it would've been to be in the away end.

Got thumped 5-1 though .........Colin Hill got ours with a rare goal.

Welly fox I think you have it with Orient.

I am sure it was around 13 000.

A fantastic day. I travelled up by train from Portsmouth (I was at Portsmouth Poly), my brother told me to hang out on the high street and he would find me. I got there around 2:00pm and there was Leicester everywhere!!!. I thought no way I am going to see my brother. I stood there just 15 mins or so then a white transit van (chosen away day mode of transport in those days, three in the front and as many as poss sitting on the floor in the back) came along with my mates hanging out the windows and back doors .

A Fantastic day, that I hope will be repeated at Leeds this season.

Fulham away in the early 80's. Ian Wilson scored the winner in front of 10,000 City fans. There were loads behind that goal but not sure if the numbers were accurate !

Posted

how many did we have at the plays offs and finals though out of interest! specially the tottenham final! must of been outnumbered!

Always sold our allocation in p.o final so 40k

Lge cup you get about 32k which we sold!

We're massive! lol

We WILL take 40k if we get to Wembley this season, end of story.

In terms of numbers in this division, only Leeds and West Ham can top us in my opinion.

Posted

they top us! but leeds and west ham have hardcore fans that follow the clubs tradition! sing marching on together and blowing bubbles! we don't really have anything so we only have 2000 plus fans away most weeks! but for the big games we always take thousands and thousands! we are massive!
