Happy Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 A guy on Twitter tell you that? Nope here is where the information lies who knows whether their is truth in it from the Dull end. http://hull-city-afc.co.uk/2012/01/stewart-bid-rejected/ Stewart bid rejected by Danny Hunt The transfer window is well and truly open, and Leicester have already attempted to grab some of our stars with a bid for Cameron Stewart tonight, which has been quickly turned down. It is thought that the deal was for both Chester and Stewart worth £7million, an amount that has been turned down. It is also thought that Leicester will be upping there offer over the coming days and will come again.
ithuriel Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Do feel a little sorry for Strov, first we take our old manager back and now we bid for some of their player's. Though we've been there before, not nice when it happens to yourself. At least they know we will never steal their Tigers chant, hopefully
Happy Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 wow 7 million Nothing surprises me anymore given we bid that amount for Jelavic in the summer, we must have a big transfer kitty
DanTheFox07 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Nothing surprises me anymore given we bid that amount for Jelavic in the summer, we must have a big transfer kitty Thing that worries me with this though is It the owner`s money or our money? in the long-term if it doesn`t work out are they really willing to spend all this money with no return unless we get promoted! If they ended up selling the club Im sure it would be including the value of transfer`s leaving us in debt? Im not sure how it all work`s in this regard, however one way or another our wage bill will still be far to high! hope we do get rid of this deadwood pearson was talking about, need to lower it.

I am not sure who's money it is, one things for sure is that promotion has to happen this season or at the very latest by next season.

You would think judging by the way our owner`s are spending they want out of this league this season! Money doesn`t guarentee success as it`s already been shown and I fear for us in the future if we don`t get promoted in next 2 season`s that our owner`s will leave us in a bad finicial position.

Happy Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I guess the kitty is bigger than 8m? More than likely, £10m was reported by the papers some time ago, but maybe up to £15m imo.
lcfcsnow Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 7 million is a wind up surely? If we're bidding that for average Championship players we're going about this completely the wrong way. Too much expectation on the players for a start, and will just cause another Matt Mills effect. These pair were hardly setting the division alight when Pearson was managing them either, no better off points wise and scoring less goals than us. It's pointless going back to Hull for players, they're not going to let us have anyone for a reasonable price after we nicked their manager, sort the scouting system out and find alternatives or go ahead and blow everything on Hull City rejects.
DanTheFox07 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 well if they`ve bid 7 million already and going back in again, what is the next bid likely to be? 7.5 to 8 million? depending on what Hull have said to us in term`s of there valuation if they have? then sharp will be at least 3million, Your looking at least 11 million there if they don`t cost anymore!
Callabinho Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 The kitty is as big as we need it to be, I'm Not being funny but if some one offered us £7 mill for Bamba and King I'd take it? For the amount they paid for both Chester and Stewart!
Bettsj2 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Could have been £2m each with a shit load of add ons. Who ****ing knows and who ****ing cares. All the thai's have really done is put money in and continuously say they are here for the long term. If they are happy to spend it then so be it. Better than when Mandeh said he would then actually not put anything in at all.

StrovolosTiger Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 because we've bid for him and its been rejected There's your answer then.
flowwolf Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Still think our supporters have the small club mentality. 7 million is chicken feed for just one prem player so it's no big deal if it helps us get to where the real money is the prem. These guys are business men and will do what ever it takes to get to the big table and when we do they will think nothing of spending 7 million on one player if not more. Think big and you will be big.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If we've bid £7 million, and we're going back with higher bids, then we are crazy. I doubt the bid is anywhere near that high though.

Think big and you will be big. These are two players who are playing in a top 6 Championship side. They haven't even been star performers this year, they've just been decent. Thinking big, spending big, will not make us big. We spent the most money in the summer on transfer fees and on the wage budget, where has this gotten us? In the bottom half of the Championship.

It is nothing to do with small time mentality it is a hell off a lot of money to part with in the championship, having said that it isn't my money and the Thais can do what they want.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Simmer down luv! But he has a point though. Do you really think they would have spent all the extra money on the stadium for a quick 12 month foray? The home games are now shown live back in Thailand. There is no shortermism in those actions. yes they want to get up asap but who doesn't?
Libertine Dream Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 7mill isn't bad for 2 young, hungry players who have a massive future ahead of them in the Premier League, had they come through at Newcastle they'd be playing for them regularly but they came through at United. We'll be lucky to get them in this window. Having said that at their age they could end up flopping due to the amount of pressure on them. As for our money, it's unlikely to be true but I heard something about the King/Government of Thailand putting small amounts of money in, unlikely but a couple of people said it to me.
ithuriel Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I think the Thais really are in it for the long term and with the club carrying their brand in such a high profile way back home they will not want to be seen as failing. They will get this club into the prem and they may once that is done go for a new management team. Then again who knows Just my thought on this
