Nigel Pearson targets former charge Cameron Stewart

But he has a point though. Do you really think they would have spent all the extra money on the stadium for a quick 12 month foray? The home games are now shown live back in Thailand. There is no shortermism in those actions. yes they want to get up asap but who doesn't?

did I say anything about 12 month`s? erm no!

Me. Ticket prices more expensive, less games for my season ticket, too many games moved to Sunday which I can't make because of work,

Not enjoying watching our insipid displays at the moment but I shan't be too upset if we fall short.

Ha! So you would genuinely prefer us to carry on playing rubbish in the championship?

Less games for your money on a season ticket? Ah well it's ok that we lose an extra few matches a season eh! If you don't mind losing please go and support another team

I don't want to see us playing as poorly as we have been, I'm just not as bothered about being in the over-hyped Premier League as much as most fans are.

Why do I need to support another team because I can cope with them losing sometimes? Surely that makes me an ideal candidate to be a Leicester supporter on the basis of all but about 8 years of my 43 year association with the club?

Still think our supporters have the small club mentality. 7 million is chicken feed for just one prem player so it's no big deal if it helps us get to where the real money is the prem. These guys are business men and will do what ever it takes to get to the big table and when we do they will think nothing of spending 7 million on one player if not more. Think big and you will be big.

Spot on

What do you mean the 'over-hyped Premier League'? It's the top division. It doesn't need any hype, it's the league that the top teams in the country play in. If you support Leicester it means you want them to be successful. If they are successful they win matches. If they win enough matches they will get promoted. If we get promoted we go to the Premier League and play against teams we've earnt the right to play against.

It's got nothing to do with hype or the ticket prices, it's about the point of sport, the attempt to be the best, or at least amongst the best 20.

Stewart is exactly what we need and we should be able to get it done but it'll be a high transfer fee nevertheless,Ward isn't a bad player but he is not a premier league player which is where Pearson wants this club to be.

Do you not think though that because of the financial rewards and increased national and international exposure there is a far greater anxiety about teams reaching the so-called "promised land" than there was?

Look, if we go up this year I will be cheering as much as the next City supporter just as I was after Derby and Palace at Wembley, what I am saying is that the league we play in really isn't the be-all and end-all to me which it seems to be to an increasing number of supporters.

If we were in the Blue Square I'd still be there and delighted when we played well and disappointed when we were poor.

What really messes me up is the amount of game shifting away from 3 on Saturday,it makes my ST very poor value. I appreciate that I am in a very small minority but I prefer less of them.

We might very well play more game's on a saturday in the Prem at home than we currently do in the Championship, so many of our games get moved it is annoying when you work evening shift's for all those week time evening matches.

I understand that and I feel for fans who want to go to watch City but are unable to. (Actually that's a lie, they don't realise how lucky they are at the moment ;) )

The bottom line is though that every fan wants us to be successful, and every fan wants to have pride in their club. Don't you? Of course you do. So whilst you may be disappointed to not be able to watch as many games your natural desire is for us to get promoted because that would be a success. It's humiliating the way things are going and it's hard to want to go on to people about how you support Leicester City when you are 14th in the Championship.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't think the Premier League is the be all and end all, see my posts in the 'Moral Dillema' thread for example. But being in the top division, whether it's called Division 1, the Premiership or the Premier League, is better for LCFC than being in the Championship, even if you personally would be disappointed about some aspects of it. And even though you'd celebrate a win just as much whatever league we are in, you can't deny you'd feel more pride in us if we had won a match in the Premiership.

As for moving matches to a Sunday, that has happened quite a bit in this league anyway because of the Tigers and TV games.

Hope you're right.

In the meantime I would just like to see us play with more wit, wisdom and imagination especially in the opposition half and particularly in the final third.

Pretty much all season our passing, touch, cross, and finishing with head and foot in the areas and moments that matter have been very poor, and more than any other I believe is the reason for our underwhelming form.

If we can start sorting that out then maybe we can get into a position where the PL becomes possible and I have to look for a ST share with someone who can make Sundays. :)

This saga can lead to a number of different conclusions:

1) We'll bid so much, Hull will eagerly want to sell him and he'll be forced out of Hull, possibly affecting his career here.

2) Maybe Cameron doesn't want to join us? Why would he, he's a started in a team much better and higher in the league than us.

3) We'll bid so much and Hull will keep rejecting, unsettling the player at Hull.

4) Cameron will hand in a transfer request as he is aware of interest from a team that can offer more money. (Unlikely)

In all honesty I can't see us landing the lad, I just can't see why he'd want to leave, Pearson or no Pearson. And I don't want him here if he doesn't want to be here.

That's all very fair Kitchandro and I agree with what you are saying.

To be honest, my wife is in the Front Room catching up with her sister from Australia and I couldn''t think of anything better to do than have a bit of banter on here.

That's not to say I've been lying, promotion would be bitter sweet for the reasons I have outlined, but yes, I would take it over where we are at the moment.

Having said that, I think the unpredicatability of the Championship makes it a great league. Sport ultimately is about competition and I am struggling to think of a more competetive league in sport never mind football. Can you?

Yes completely agree with that. Entertainment-wise it's the best league in the world IMO, no matter what Sky say about the Premier League.

Think you're about spot on, I feel another Maynard/Long situation coming on with this and several others mentioned.

I'm not sure that throwing big money on certain players looking for the quick fix is going to work with us,it hasn't o far and I think it is a flawed strategy.

I would like all at the club, but most especially the owners to adopt a more patient approach.

My hope would be that we back the manager and allow him to build a team with hidden gems as he has done before with us and Hull, in our case Davies, Cleverley, Tunchev, even Wellens in his prime.

Did anybody else think that he looked like a monkey when they looked at the picture ?

No. As I said in my last post, he looks like the lovechild of Moira Stewart and Pob.

These are two players who are playing in a top 6 Championship side. They haven't even been star performers this year, they've just been decent.

Thinking big, spending big, will not make us big. We spent the most money in the summer on transfer fees and on the wage budget, where has this gotten us? In the bottom half of the Championship.

That was purely down to the owners making Erickson the manager. Which ever way you look at it that idiot fvcked us all over good and proper. With a couple of exceptions he squandered vast amounts of money on mediocre players ( Mills for instance ) and no tactical sense what so ever. Any descent manager who knew this league would have bought much more wisely as you will see when Pearson gets his own men in. Until then we will have to live with Erickson's legacy.

Stewart; might as well make a separate thread, it will need it....

So... he wants to come.... we want him..... we have money.... But Hull will make it very very difficult for us?
