the shit has been hitting the fan since peter ****ing taylor and his adiakinbadbyes, the club once again has money to spend so far beckford, mills, nugent,st ledger etc have been bought for a few million and leicester city are prob at mo looking more like relegation fodder than promotion contenders, i think pearson should be judged after he has signed some players and hopefully got rid of any that dont feature in his plans maybe buying players from div 1 rather than over priced players from prem will give us a team of players who play for the shirt , what ever happens i think np will sort it out but i dont expect a quick fix...

People are so quick to call time on a new manager. I'v said before that I liked Sven, and would have given him an entire season before he got the sack, if not for the reason that changing manager would probably make our season a write off anyway (and how true that turned out to be....).

However, while I'm not impressed with pearson so far, I'd still want to give him an entire season before we judge whether he gets the chop.

bunch of cvnts at the moment.

We're average. Not the world beaters you think we are. Move on, give pearson his team and judge come christmas.

What has Pearson 'proved' at this level?

That he can get a team in the play-offs. That he can get teams performing to their maximum. That he can improve teams.

It's going to take time but I think he will 'turn it around'. We need to show vast improvement before the end of the season though.

lol some people on this forum . Still on about sven did this sven did that , the main word being DID he as not done zip in 12 years . And trying to compare him to NP is a joke just for the fact Sven as been in football ten times longer than NP so it's no suprise he as won more .

I mean some people post like they know better than NP or the owners and they would do a better job . Get a grip its not football manager , everything is not sorted at a click of the mouse .

Keeping Carlisle up? Keeping Southampton up? Taking us to the Play Off Semis? Transforming a bad Hull side?

I can't believe people are talking about sacking a manager, who is proven at this level, this quickly. Were you honestly expecting things to turn round this quickly?

Unreal. Stop it or the Thais will actually listen to you. Then, by the end of the season, we'll be calling for yet another manager's head.

Add to that keeping us up after taking a team over in 7th.

I expect a new manager to come in and have a positive impact yes. Even if not in results then performance, moral, or style .... it's the fact that everything is gping backwards that worries me.

I'm not calling for his head .... I just honestly cannot see him turning it around .... I really hope he proves me wrong.

Firstly, i'd like to say that i'm not currently in favour of Pearson being shown the door as I believe he does need longer to turn things around.

Personally, I think Top and the board need to appoint a PR advisor asap similar to the big clubs whereby they pre-screen media questions and the manager's response before allowing the media access to the manager as Pearson seems to be digging himself a hole at the moment which seems to be tarnishing his reputation.

Whilst I have no particular issue with Pearson, his excuses are becoming somewhat annoying and clearly avoid any form of accountability. I'm sure most fans thought that he'd be an inspirational leader and motivate an underperforming group of players. His excuses about the short comings of the squad and recruitment policy are valid to a degree however irrespective of the imbalances to the team I'm sure that if you were to ask all of the managers in the lower half of the Championship the majority would like to have players of the quality that our squad possesses. Do you imagine the likes of Kenny Jackett, Dougie Freedman, and Darren Ferguson would complain if they had the opportunity to work with the calibre of players that Pearson has at his disposal? Whether or not Pearson brings new players into the squad is immaterial, he has what he has and he needs to make the most of the resources available.

People will argue that Sven didn't build a team but a collection of individual's but surely that's the manager's job to bring the individuals together and form a team. Afterall no one can pre-judge how someone will work with other people until they are actually put together. Whilst everyone believed that Sven didn't have the personality to gel the team, the question is with Pearson's so called superior man management skills, what has Pearson done to unify the group? We haven't heard any reports of team building exercises or resolution management, only reports that individuals need to improve creating negativity and a blame culture within the playing staff. Rightly or wrongly, Pearson needs to protect the players greater, shoulder the responsibility and take the heat off the players. Only then will we see the current bunch relax and play to the ability we all know they are capable of.

Irrespective of the squads shortcomings no one can deny that this group of players should be performing better than they currently are. I suppose time will tell whether or not Pearson is the right man for the job, but I do hope he gets it right soon.

I still want Nigel to stay even if we don't get promotion.

I just want the Thai owners to stick by him and let him bring his type of players in or if they decide to fire Nigel, then I want them out too as I don't want Warnock anywhere near our club!

He's no MON that's for sure and this IS his team in that it's the team he's taken on. Management is not just about organising the players you've brought in - it's about getting the most out of what's in place already.

And Pearson rates little more than 3/10 for his achievements in that direction so far. But, he's lost Schlupp (having hardly used him anyway), he's lost Fernandes (who didn't want to stay), he's lost Bamba to the African Nations Cup so overall I wuldn't have expected him to have improved our position dramatically.

But I would have expected hm to have held it and to have maintained some spirit yet that seemed sadly lacking against Barnsley. I also expected him to have established a resilient pattern of play and maintained our situation as an attractive club to join which, again, doesn't seem to have been the case.

Nor do I don't think it's very professional blaming Sven for his "inheritance" - he could have tackled the subject much more skillfully. But, there's no hiding place now because he'll either get some better players in and build a proper team quickly or he'll have to suffer the grief of collecting his pay-off! lol

After the way he was outed here I couldn't blame him for being tempted to go for the pay-off! lol There would be a certain irony in our having to pay him a fortune for getting us relegated, especially with the flak he's getting right now.

pearson IS a myth... apart from getting us out of div1 what has he achieved in management? zip....we sack a manager who had won 21 titles..and surprise ,surprise we head down the league...big wow,,

Do you mean the one who never won a fvcking thing in English football ?The one who has left us a legacy just as shitty as Taylor ? The carpetbagging old fart who got the sack and walked away with £400,000 kiss off ? Yeah Erickson did absolute wonders for us didn't he. :o :o :o

A failure? How the bloody hell will be ever know unless he's given a chance.

Since Sven was sacked he seems to have suddenly become the messiah that would have taken us to the promised land. On the 22nd of October after his sacking we were in 14th place. Today we stand in 15th place.

Yes we were only 2 points off sixth place, but that was after 13 games. If his points trend had continued for the following 13 games then we would have been 4 points off sixth place.

Obviously stats mean little, we could have taken more points or less points under him (there was little evidence of getting more though). Lets not paint his time here to be anything other than it atually was! The passing football of last season had gone except for a couple of 45 minutes, he was playing Pearsons old midfield when they were available, and he was struggling to get anything from these players and the new signings he had expensively assembled, just as Pearson is now.

I find it amazing that several people wanting Pearson out have said they would have Sven back... why?

People are having a go at Pearson for blaming Sven and the players. Is that not what most people were already doing on here before his sacking? People said the squad was unbalanced, people said his new midfield signings had done little to prove themselves better than what we had, people said the flowing football had gone, people said the players looked uninterested, people said he was just collecting individuals and not a team.

We all want better than this, and for the investment the owners would also. But without time and a chance to create a TEAM that he wants, we won't know if he's up to the job again this time around.

If some of you think Pearson is the man for the job, then explain to me the team selection for Saturday and why did Beckford only get 17 minutes? I dont want to sack Pearson but he has questions that need answering around the selection of certain players who are clearly not good enough and put in limited effort to compensate.

The issue with Beckford is that we dont have the midfield to get the right passes to him, if you actually go to the games and watch not just the ball you will see he does makes intelligent runs but our midfield are way to slow and dont see his runs then they play it to his feet which is not his strength.

Gallagher OUT... WELLENS OUT

So you moan at him for picking players who "players who are clearly not good enough and put in limited effort to compensate." And then wonder why Beckford doesn't play?

Have you seen the guy play since he arrived? He's not picked because when he does play we may as well be playing with one upfront.

Lets stop with all this "he needs service" crap. He's missed a dozen sitters since he has been here and he couldn't contol a bag of cement. He's not playing because he's not been good enough.

We have few options at the minute to replace out of form players. Drop Gallagher and Wellens and replace them with who? Abe and Beckford... whoop de frigging doo.

So everything is rosy in your garden then!! if you have mates who are Everton and Leeds fans ask them about Beckfords strenghts... Abe and Beckford would have started for me on Saturday in place of both Wellens and Gallager who... if you went on saturday did sweet FA

No, everything is not rosy at all. But i'm not going to start pretending that Abe or Beckford are suddenly amazing players. Did you go to the Forest cup game and see Abe and Beckford do nothing all game as well? In fact did you see Beckford do nothing all season? Abe has been average and Beckford has been utter dog shit since his arrival.

I've been to every game and for someone who is supposedly a great finisher Beckford has missed a dozen sitters. You can go on about service all you want, he should be putting those chances away. As a professional footballer he should also be able to control the football, as well as putting in a bit of effort now and again. He does neither at the moment.

In a free flowing team creating dozens of chances, with balls being slipped through midfield regularly, then he may well end up being an asset. But at this moment in time we are a million miles away from being the kind of team he might flourish in. That's not down to Pearson either, because he was exactly the same under Sven.

Nor am I saying they are great but if you play Abe as a holding player which could release King that would have been better on Saturday...I agree Beckford has been poor and I would not have brought him in as it was a Sven panic as were lots of his central midfield buys. My point is the team selection on Saturday was wrong and yes I was at forest as I was at the first game there, beckford was bad but so was gallagher, but we are not playing to the strengths of beckford a new midfield is required.... thats my point!

I did laugh when Beckford's only contribution on Saturday when he came on was that spooned shot that went 100 ft over the top of the goal and about 50 ft wide. lol

I also laughed, because the bloke behind me had been going nuts from the first minute about him not playing. I tried ot explain to him that he was shit.... only when that shot nearly hit us in row HH did he start to believe me!!

Harmony is restored! but lets face it we are shit and are we should be at the minute, paying too much for poor players and keeping faith with players who are now not the answer... As it looks like we have seen most games then was it a mistake not to give Fernandez a run in central midfield or are the rumours of him only being for Sven true... For the sake of debate my team would have been Kasper, Peltier,Tunchev, Mills, Konchesky, Abe (Holding) King, Dyer,Danns, Beckford and Nugent... not great wont get promoted but the best in my opinion of a bad lot. and Beckford 35 yard attempt was better suited across the road at the egg chasers

There were loads of chants of 'BRING BECKFORD ON!!' as if it were likely to change the outcome of the game.

The whole club (fans included) are a complete embarrassment.

But you are so prejudiced against the guy you would probably feel sick if he got a hat trick - he was good for his previous clubs and has a great goal scoring ratio prior to coming here - why can't we be pleased we have someone who if they do find form has the ability (and strikers succeed with good supply and confidence, whether it is Rooney, Suarez, Torres etc etc or our rubbish little ones) to score every other game. Your negativity towards the guy and the general negativity on the board towards Yakubu, Campbell, Danns etc makes me wonder if this is not some kind of racial prejudice against these guys - lots of worship for goofballs like Fryatt, Waghorn, Wellens etc etc but outright hatred for the black guys??? Please tell me I'm wrong but it is starting to worry me.
