chris_lcfc_85 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Guys, reading this forum is very predictable before you even log on. We win and most people praising the players and the fact we've turned a corner then when we lose, people questioning the managers position! I appreciate its unbelievably frustrating and not good enough but when will people realise that one of the major reasons we are still in this position is because we've chopped and changed managers too quickly/often. Why cant we accept we probably need to go through this sort of spell with a manager before it gets better and we should give him time? Nigel's first season at Hull was mid table and they did nothing. However he's built a side there and now they're in alot better state than us having spent far less money as in time, he bought in Stewart, Brady, Chester, Dudgeon, Koren etc all for next to nothing!! Nigel would of never of spent 5m on Matt Mills as he knows he can get better for less.... He's hardly had many options recently with players due to injuries etc too. After Saturday he kept the same side as you'd expect and never question that. We lose and people saying Gally/Wellens etc should be dropped!! The bloke isnt Houdini!! He did what most managers would do! He's said he'll make changes and i've no doubt he will
accessory Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 As we've seen during the past THREE seasons, certain players, who can sporadically perform well at home, are chronically incapable of reproducing that form in away games. Dyer and Wellens in particular were found out at Brighton and again last night. Paul Lambert will have noticed the weak links in our side and prepared his side accordingly. Lambert also knows when to rotate his squad, something our manager hasn't yet mastered.
Kawwaah Kawwaah Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 We lost last night but im not getting worried about it at all. Mid table this season ive thought for the past month or so and thats fully where i expect we will end up. I dont think anyone should even remotely entertain Pearsons job being at risk. Lets get to the summer, let him do whatever he needs to do close season and start again. However, come next xmas, if we aren't in a better position than we are now then you would have to fear for him i suppose. But right now, lets write this one off, let Pearson experiment with what works and what doesnt as we aren't going up nor going down, and prep for next season. Besides, it wont seem so long this summer with the Euros to entertain (or not, if your an avid England follower)
jonlcfc1990 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I usually don't log in when we lose it's all the same threads Season over? Pearson long term answer? Gallagher Wellens Mills is rubbish Makes me want to actually get on with some work

Same old story, same old posts.
MrSpaM Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 It's understandable that our fans act the way they do when we can't string two wins together.

dannythefox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 We will not get promotion while dyer gally and wellens are starting games for us.
Babylon Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 It's understandable that our fans act the way they do when we can't string two wins together. Quite a few people manage to not act like a bunch of mood swinging teenagers. It's the same old stuff, lose and game and people blame Gallagher and Wellens (Most of the people saying it weren't even there). Then there is the Pearson will get sacked, the owners will leave pots... yawn.

Yeh it does grate a bit people saying the same old stuff week in week out, but if the seasons are rollercoaster, the fans reactions are going to be rollercoaster as well. Until we get a stable squad this is just going to keep going on and on
Babylon Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 We will not get promotion while dyer gally and wellens are starting games for us. And yet they are the only players of ours to ever get us into the playoffs.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 And yet they are the only players of ours to ever get us into the playoffs. Well said
dannythefox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 And yet they are the only players of ours to ever get us into the playoffs. But then we had players that worked as a team and were 3 years younger with good momentum from league one with know pressure and nothing expected of us.
Babylon Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 But then we had players that worked as a team So it's the players around them then and not JUST them? Maybe we will have players that work well as a team again when Pearson has finished his rebuilding. I'm not their biggest fan, but I don't think they are anywhere as bad as people make out. They fall down where most of our players do, consistancy. As for the age thing, they aren't exactly ancient. We aren't a bad team, in fact sometimes we are a very very good team. I don't think we are a million miles away from having the right mix. But people are still slating the midfield, and from what i've seen lately, even with the clean sheets our defence has worried me much more. For weeks I have been saying we look like conceeding at set pieces constantly and again last night we got undone from two of them. Is it because of how we are setting up, or is it because we don't have two dominant CB's to deal with the biggest oppo threat. I'd have to look at the replays, but the latter doesn't help.
FoxyMusic Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 And yet they are the only players of ours to ever get us into the playoffs. Brilliant reply. How everything can be blamed on these guys is beyond me. These players PLUS pearson guided us to the play-offs. What have we done since with all the "multi-million" signings.
FoxyMusic Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 PS get big Sol back in for the Norwich/Derby games please!
accessory Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 And yet they are the only players of ours to ever get us into the playoffs. Hobbs and Fryatt (both criminally dumped by Sven) contributed more to that achievement, along with King, Waghorn and even Chris Weale. Pearson's three amigos were limited then and have become even more so now. You can stick your head in the sand as much as you like, but many of the fans see them as liabilities, and so do our opponents.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 We will not get promotion while dyer gally and wellens are starting games for us. This is it exactly. But then you'll get the usual reponse of blaming our inadequacies on the back four and the reasons why - which usually boil down to paying over the odds for a player who can't distribute the ball effectively. The fallout of the away game at Doncaster said it all for me. Their fans comment on Wellens now being "a shadow of his former self" compared to his time there. Perhaps we're so blinkered, we can't see it. We can't rely on 1) a declining player in CM 2) a flash in the pan on the right who comes up with moments of brilliance in one game out of ten or 3) all left foot, bursts of pace which dwindle to nothing more often than not if we are to form some sort of promotion challenge. They're just not good enough, nor consistent enough to achieve it.

Lambert also knows when to rotate his squad, something our manager hasn't yet mastered. Pearson hasnt rotated his squad as we have numerous players injured/unavailable. The midfield has picked itself, same as the attack. Plus, Norwich kept Lambert in charge for a number of seasons..... We lost Nigel cos Mandaric acted silly at the time and he was forced to resign.... Who know's where we'd be now if Nigel had stayed in charge. After all, he did a great job before.
jamesmilner Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 for the first time , after listening to pearson still persisting we are good enough for the playoffs , my opinion is pearson has joined the "deluded with grandeur" gang ! the three goals we conceded last night were poor defending, woeful ,defending !!! poor nugents goals were for nothing ! the change required from now to the end of season is not on our radar, the form we need i cannot see our players producing . ah well ! next season !
Jace Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Great post personally I think the problem with Foxestalk sometimes is it is used by many fans like myself who cannot attend many games and almost ever analyse every game with the result and stats because its all we can go on or listen to an internet stream to voice an opinion. Don't want this to sound like a criticism but sometimes theres more to football when it comes to winning games and every player at every team has good games and bad games and for a manager to know when its going to happen is a tough job. If we didn't do this though and all kept quiet the forum would be a very boring place!
blueharmie Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 haha playoffs we are way behind. we cant even string two wins together. Leicester city will never reach the play offs this season. This could be seen weeks ago. We must have the most overpaid, overhyped, average squad ever. Pearson needs time to balance it all out. wellens, dyer and gally are not good enough for us to push for promotion. If nigel cant see this people will question him, however i think he will turn svens unbalanced squad around given time, but no way will it be this season, too fair behind now.
