We will not get promotion while dyer gally and wellens are starting games for us.

Funny that because we beat promotion contenders Cardiff and Southahmpton with them in the team, and Blackpool going back a bit further.

Strange to single out the attacking players, when we scored 2 away from home created more and would have won comfortably if we could defend against a big lump.

People really only see what they want to and have such agendas against certain players it is really sad, especially as it is the longer serving, some might even say loyal players that have been at this club a few years, that get singled out.

Pearson hasnt rotated his squad as we have numerous players injured/unavailable. The midfield has picked itself, same as the attack.

Plus, Norwich kept Lambert in charge for a number of seasons..... We lost Nigel cos Mandaric acted silly at the time and he was forced to resign.... Who know's where we'd be now if Nigel had stayed in charge. After all, he did a great job before.

We could have started with Morgan, Danns, Marshall and Howard last night. That team couldn't have done much worse in the conditions and against the opposition than the one that Pearson kept faith with.

Norwich under Lambert have made constant progress - similar to us during Pearson's first spell here. However it's hard to argue that any form of progress has been made in his second term.

It is pretty difficult to get any progress when we have deadwood lingering on the books, NP couldn't have done the rebuilding in January too little time come the summer I expect big changes and hopefully the team will be a better proposition.

Spot on again Captain !!

The moaners have come out of the woodwork since Saturday ......typically !!

All three have had far more bad games than good ones, during this season and the last one.

"Loyal" players? Please, pass the sickbag. They're all being paid way over the odds on long-term contracts, no wonder they don't want to leave.

It'll be very interesting to see what changes Nige makes in the summer. I think there's a number of players he doesn't rate but his hands were tied as Jan is not the time for wholesale changes.

Random prediction #1 - Matt Mills will be sold and Wes Morgan or Konch will be installed as club captain.

Random prediction #2 - Beckford and Pantsil will be sold.

Random prediction #3 - Gally and Wellens will be squad players and not starters come the start of next season.

I'll have to consult my crystal ball for further details.

So the difference between Dyer, Gally and Wellens, is that they have been inconsistent for 2 seasons for us and not just the one, like Mills, SSL, Konchesky, Peltier, Beckford, Danns.

You can't even credit the players for being at the club for a while, despite a number of managers bringing in a lot of their own players they have always fought their way back into the team (Dyer/Gally) or proved to be the best we have in that position (Wellens).

Look at it as a team and not single out individuals, we are improving as a team, how many points have we won which we wouldn't under Sven, we are building spirit and resilience, but we still have this maddening inconsistency.

I am as frustrated as anyone that we didn't win last night, but I am consoled by the fact that we could have and should have, we played well enough to win, but a few mistakes cost us. If the foul in the lead up to their third ahd been given and we had won a penalty at the end, it would have been hailed as a great win full of character and team spirit, it is on such small margins our season has fallen away, these are excuses and we should be able to rise above it, but sometimes you just have to accept it is not going to be our season and build for the next. I don't understand this hatred towards our players.

Well said !!

Unfortunately, whenever and however we lose ,it always seems to be the same players who are crucified on here .......usually by the same narrow-minded moaners !

Quite a few people manage to not act like a bunch of mood swinging teenagers.

It's the same old stuff, lose and game and people blame Gallagher and Wellens (Most of the people saying it weren't even there). Then there is the Pearson will get sacked, the owners will leave pots... yawn.

Exactly !

It really is pathetic !

Don't fall into the mistake of proposing all this 'we should have won' nonsense.

Too many people did that under Sven, both this season and last season.

It's 'a points business' and the little defensive errors and the missed chances ARE what makes all the difference.

Watford may have had less of the ball last night? They may have had fewer chances? But THEY TOOK THEM... So they won and got all three points.

That's why we are where we are in the league...

The table doesn't lie and demonstrates a season of defensive errors and missed chances...

Reason why? We are not consistently good enough.. That's the reason

Blame it on refs, blame it on luck... For God's sake 'blame it on the boogie' if you so wish....

Although all are factors, none of them deny the hard reality that we need to stop the defensive errors and take our chances.

Do this and we will have a chance. Don't do this and people like yourself will be making the same, lame excuses next season, and the next....

Why do Gally and Wellens get blamed every time we get a bad result? Both were superb against Cardiff. Typical English mentality, we concede 3 goals so it must be the an attackers fault. It's nothing to do with the back four who have been chooped and changed and poor all season. We conceded from set pieces yesterday. Is that really Gally's fault? Just to defend Gally I might point out that he has scored 8 goals (only 2 less than Wittingham) and is a player of quality. Yes he doesnt always play a stormer but his touch and his passing are always good. and give us a chance. Same with Wellens. Yes Dyer works his socks off, and yes like most fans I love his directness, but his final ball is poor, his shooting woeful. We need quality not just work rate, and there are very few at this level who possess both. I have no idea where MIlls's reputation has come from because he seems pretty average to me. Positioning isn't great, his tackling is reckless and he thinks he's David Beckham. He plays the same 50 yard cross ball to Dyer at least 6 times a game of which at most 1 is a decent usable pass. I like Sol, but he is just a sporadic when it comes to consistency which is not what u want from a centre back and is Morgan really the answer???

In short I think we should start laying off Pearson. Im not his biggest fan, but like most of us I think he is looking at the side thinking well we can beat Cardiff, Southhampton, etc but not Watcford and Barnsley. So WTF is going on? Personally I look at our midfield and attack and I like what I see. Pace and skill. And I think AMrshall and Drinkwater add to this. If we could couple that with a water tight defence then things could be very different.

chooped! Haha I meant chopped obv**

Yeah I can imagine the reaction on here had he made those changes to the team that dispatched of Cardiff so easily.

Ask yourself this would Gally Wellens or Dyer get in West Ham, Southampton, Cardiff, Birmingham's or even Hulls starting 11? There's your answer!

Spot on Danny... Absolutely spot on

They wouldn't...

Neither would Danns or Peltier...

This is it exactly. But then you'll get the usual reponse of blaming our inadequacies on the back four and the reasons why - which usually boil down to paying over the odds for a player who can't distribute the ball effectively.

The fallout of the away game at Doncaster said it all for me. Their fans comment on Wellens now being "a shadow of his former self" compared to his time there. Perhaps we're so blinkered, we can't see it.

We can't rely on 1) a declining player in CM 2) a flash in the pan on the right who comes up with moments of brilliance in one game out of ten or 3) all left foot, bursts of pace which dwindle to nothing more often than not if we are to form some sort of promotion challenge. They're just not good enough, nor consistent enough to achieve it.

I'm pleased someone can see what I see. When we do get promotion when ever that maybe we will not have those 3 playing across the middle the sooner people stop sticking by these player thinking there good enough the better.

QPR a few seasons ago are a great example of us now. When they came into the cash did we see them fly into Promotion glory? No. They failed miserably and ended up mid table. The next season they won the league. You can't build a team in 1 summer we've got some brilliant players here right we just need to build on them.

Last night we lost but to be honest Id rather see us lose than draw at this stage of the season a draw is no good to us we have had to play to win not scrape a point. It has been all or bust recently to reach the play offs and we've had to gamble unfortunately we bust.

To be fair Pearson tried to bring Danns to Hull in the summer and Fulham have been rumoured to have been interested in Peltier :scarf:

On the other hand I think there is a quite a large amount of people on this board who do go to games at least home games and therefoire, do have the right to comment, although, not crucify certain players. However, considering the money, time and effort myself and my family have put into supporting a team on saturday, who have continually let us down this season, I feel I do have the right to say that Dyer/Wellens/Gally aren't the players they once were and have been poor this season.

Without getting into a 'I pay my taxes (season ticket) I can say what I like arguement' Gally especially has largely been ineffective in most game I have been to, that includes most home and a few away, minus his moments of brilliance.

I think Danns is a good player but Pelts unless he get promoted with a team will never be a premiership player. Naughton's hardly setting Norwich on fire and look how much better he was.

Definitely I rate Danns but at the same time I think we could improve still in his area before next season starts if I was in charge I would offered Spurs close to the asking price for Naughton
