Financial Fair Play Regulations

After Leicester have splurged out so much cash do you think we will still be in line with the new UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations? There was a piece I read about the possible break up of the leicester side (not a bad thing lol) next season due to this?

I think the wage burden must be reduced for several reasons

1) It's unsustainable & is the road to ruin

2) The owners really seemed to believe they had a 2 year plan to get in the Prem, which looks almost certainly to have failed

3) Perhaps, they need to cut down the rate of spending & whilst they realise will be forking out to fund us they're probably not willing to do it to the same ridiculous levels as they have done.

What a shame that someone was able to spunk all the money away for so little return (not just signing fees, but the ongoing costs of wages which is the real killer) & now we have a manager who is more inclined to 'build' may not have the same luxuries open to him

As for the fair play, I'm not sure what the limits are or when they kick in or even if they effect us at all... but I do know 'Sven-conomics' is suicide

Email from the FL re FFP

Please see attached a link to The Football League website which shows a link to a story that was published with relation to Clubs’ adopting the UEFA Financial Fair Play framework.

With relation to The Championship clubs’ adopting the framework this is still being looked into - http://www.football-...2293334_2374252

Thank you for contacting The Football League.

Kind Regards

If it's still "being looked at" I doubt it'll have much impact if any on next season and even when it does come in it will be phased in I should think.

The thing is that we have no idea how much of the purchases we made under Sven were forced on him. Maybe the Thais were demanding names and big buys to massage their egos. The QPR documentary highlighted this where owners force the purchase and sale of players without the managers full backing. Abramovich did this with the purchase of Torres too.

Nothing has even been agreed yet I believe (just seen DG's post to back that up). Even then the reported figures previously allowed you to make £12m loss in the first year.

That won't be the accounts for the upcoming year though, they'll be for the year after i'd imagine. And then as DG says it will be phased in over the period of 5/6/7 years.

It will have an effect, but you'll not see much different for another year at least yet in my opinion.

Doesn't FFP only matter to clubs competing in Europe? And therefore we should wait until we are promotion contenders before even beginning to think about worrying about this.

You think they were appeased with big names like Neil Danns, Sol Bamba, Michael Ball, Lee Peltier, David Nugent, SSL etc. I don't thinkn any were forced on him, they wouldn't even have known about any of the players we signed under him.

It does now, but the football league have voted to bring in a system and it was supposed to start next year. Although nothing has been finalised yet from what I can see.

Which suggests they know as little about football as I feared. FFS not knowing about Nugent when owning a Championship club - who have they heard of, only David Beckham and Bobby Charlton?

Of course they know little about players. That's why they hire a manager, and why they have advisors!
