Of course, we could have sung this for Gally ages ago.

Viva Gallagher, Viva Gallagher,

Poncing on the wing

Doesnt do a thing,

Viva Gallagher

This is sheer quality

What is this Ben Marshall song people are talking about?

Dale Cavese. Slightly different version though as every time there's a gap when they go "na na na na na na na" they shout "BEN MARSHALL".

It's a song I seriously didn't want us to sing, but to be fair, the Marshall bit actually makes it a bit more unique.

To those who don't know what Dale Cavese is, here's the foreign version which is easily the best IMO;

Accrington's version actually isn't too bad, but what the fvcking hell are them whistles? Sounds appalling.

Dale Cavese is OK but a bit samey.

Give me a bit of Sos Cagon (aka the Ken Barlow song) any time.

Whether in triumph

Whether in sorrow

All over the country

Forever we'll follow!

To see Leicester City

Pride of the Midlands

And one day we will be

Champions of England!

East Midlands' Number One!

East Midlands' Number One!

Spot on Dan this is how it should be done but sounded good today and provides a little bit of variety, as others have said we need the Melboure one as well.

Im in L1 and all for continental style chanting but people need to learn how to sing Dale Cavese because today was the most pathetic Cavese ive ever heard, no rhythm (not helped by fatty) - it should be how the Stanley Ultras do it, slow build up and then going nuts im the nanananana bit.

For the older ones amongst us, we used to sing something to the tune 'He's got the world in his hands', the one I remember was:

We got Lenny Glover on the wing,

Lenny Glover on the wing

Lenny Glover on the wing

We got Glover on the wing.

Now it would be really easy to adopt this for the current squad, something like this;

We got kasper Schmichael number one

kasper Schmichael number one

kasper Schmichael number one

We got Kasper number one

We got Wesley Morgan, fookin beast

Wesley Morgan, fookin beast

Wesley Morgan, fookin beast

We got Wes the fookin beast

We got Lloyd Dyer, roadrunner

Lloyd Dyer, roadrunner

Lloyd Dyer, roadrunner

We got Lloyd the roadrunner.

We got Ben marshall on the wing

Ben marshall on the wing

Ben marshall on the wing

We got marshall on the wing.

We got David Nugent scoring goals

David Nugent scoring goals

David Nugent scoring goals

We got Nugent scoring goals.

Then of course, if NP's favourites make an appearance, we could always plug in these two:

We got Richie Wellens f***ing hell

Richie Wellens f***ing hell

Richie Wellens f***ing hell

We got Wellens f***ing hell

We got Gallagher doing jack

Gallagher doing jack

Gallagher doing jack

We got Gally doing jack.

And there my friends I'll leave it, for you young 'uns to try a bit of invention and add your own verses

oh stop being such a snob, they put their own twist on it and that's a good thing otherwise people would be moaning we're just singing other sides songs

This is brilliant.

I thought it sounded great.

It was a great homage to Ben Marshall today but the truth is, all the players names could be chanted in the gaps.

I agree it's too big a song for one player. It could be used to praise any player after doing something good or having a good game.

Spread the love!!

Now can we get the Melbourne Chant going? If we get it going I will do something any of you tell me!

Just sing the thing. Just like the lads did a few rows behind me today with the Ben Marshall chant. Or how they did with we love you the first time it was aired at home.

Or in fact how every chant in the history of the world got started. Talking about it on here is fine but it's pointless if you're not going to make a decent attempt at the ground. I've not once heard it being sung at the ground yet. Not having a go because it's not your responsibility alone to start chants but someone does need to actually sing it.

It does help when you and a couple of friends start it though. I'd like to try and get it going but I'm at games on my own and everyone might ignore me lol

Give it a go against Forest and if I hear it I'll join in. If I'm pissed enough I'll give it a go.

Cracking effort by Bilo, would love that song to catch on or something in that mould.

surely this one alone for Marshall, then the one sang today for a team song?

Then the Melbourne if it ever gets started, i reckon P'borough will be the day...

What's this song then? :D

It's to one of the Stevenage songs

Whoaaaahh, whoooooooaaah, whooooaahhh whoooahhh... Na na na na nana na na na na na BEN MARSHALL nana na na na na nana na na BEN MARSHALL...(8) :scarf:

...(gd as I could do it haha) :L :P

Not sure whats going on with my phone today but the picture is awful and sound not the best either, typical!

So absolutely nothing like Dale cavese then??

But in the plus side, I think it's a brilliant chant and the fact that it's actually nothing like what it's meant to be, if it is meant to be that, means we might have come up with something original
