Haydos Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Fvcking hell that's nasty. The pace he comes in at as well, their player is lucky he still has a career. What the fvck was everyone saying 'he got the ball' and 'yellow card at most' watching?
Lobsterboyuk Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Didn't seem to be studs up and although late did carry the ball through - I think a red card was harsh?
Guest Bilo Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Bloody hell Dannsy, they call that assault in some countries. Awful challenge and no complaints about a straight red.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 My first opinion was it was a red. What annoyed me was the ref seemed to let it go, then blew, then hull influenced the ref into sending him off
Jace Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I've been told off on the fb official page for mentioning Danns tackle Clearly a straight red anyone who says it was a 50/50 or a yellow card doesn't know the basic rules of football
Haydos Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Didn't seem to be studs up and although late did carry the ball through - I think a red card was harsh? Are you kidding? You cannot be serious. It's borderline assault.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Definite red card. My apologies to the referee for being so certain he was wrong. Looks like both of the feet of the Hull player are off the ground there though, but he's stayed on the pitch. Ironically had the Hull player been playing the ball legitimately (i.e. on his feet) Danns would have broken at least one of his legs. Seem to have talked myself round in circles there; not sure what I'm trying to say. Maybe that both players made red-card tackles there.
Yojoe36 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 The other player still lunged for the ball also. However, Danns going in like that has the possibility of breaking a leg.
Dan Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 At the time I thought he probably should've gone, and was in the minority. Watching it back, it's the most blatant red of the season. There's a clear lack of discipline in this squad, a club record number of red cards this season now. Shame really, I thought he was playing well. Slightly pissed off Liam Rosenior never got a yellow at least though.

Ozwin Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I bet everyone who was calling for the refs head are feeling a bit silly now. I thought I was mental cos everyone around me was up jumping around screaming bloody murder and I was just sitting there, arms folded like a don knowing what was coming.
StanSP Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I think at the last second, Danns does go to remove his feet from the tackle. The intent is there, but it's also from the Hull player as well. It was a 50/50 in terms of the ball was there to be won by both players - Danns just went in with a bit (maybe too much) conviction. It's not harsh that he got a red. It's just harsh that the other player escapes with nothing despite not making any contact with the ball, despite Danns doing so (but with 2 feet, I know).
speedwayson Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 can't complane it was a red card bad luck dannsy
Criggers Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I had a clear as day view from the front row of east stand. I said straight away he was gone. It was a nasty tackle. The radio Leicester callers must have been at a different game and how stringer could even suggest we might appeal AFTER (!) seeing a replay is unbelievable. However, the Hull player was also off his feet and Rosenior's reaction was a joke. Although, it's not surprising he went mad, he would know what a leg breaking tackle is wouldn't he.... Greg Cunningham?

It's interesting, because there's no doubt that whilst Danns deserved to go, the Hull player has at least one leg off the ground with studs up (the other is off the ground but cocked so unlikely to do damage) and was clearly very late. A late tackle with studs up, even if one-footed, is a booking minimum. At the speed he was travelling it was arguably reckless.

I think most people are annoyed that the other player didn't even get a booking for his part in it. I know I am. Both players were travelling at speed and wanted to win the ball, so I can't fault them for that. I'd be more annoyed if one of them was a pansy and decided to put in a weak challenge, cos there's more chance of an injury that way.
ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Just confirms how biased some football fans are. Turn it round and we'd be outraged if McKenna was ever allowed to play again. Said at the time from the Kop, say it again now, horrible tackle. Will be missed for 4 games.
Halfsy Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I, personally, don't think it's as bad as some people on here are suggesting. The ball is there to be won, he's just a little over-zealous. It's a clumsy challenge, undoubtedly, but he doesn't make any contact with Rosenior. If both players had actually played the ball the referee would've waved play on, but you can't tackle with 'aggressive force' in the modern game. I think 10 years ago, that would've been a booking at most.
1964FOX Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Can't understand the problem 50/50 challenge and Danns won it, Hull player got up and made no complaint.
Fox96 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 To be fair, he isn't actually hitting the player is he? From the camera angle it doesn't look it. Also, both players go in at the same height, don't they? Does look like it'd hurt though. I'll wait to see it on the highlights.

I am, just a bit My excuse is that I blinked.
