MikeyT Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Injured-Neil-Danns-puts-Leicester-City-comeback/story-15780684-detail/story.html Leicester City midfielder Neil Danns, out for the last four games because of suspension, may also miss Saturday's vital game at Millwall – because he is injured. Danns was banned for the games against Nottingham Forest, Peterborough, Doncaster and Ipswich after a red card in the home win against Hull. Neil Danns • • The summer signing had been in fine form before the ban and manager Nigel Pearson was looking forward to having him back in the squad. But a groin injury suffered in training could mean that he is missing for the clash at the New Den. "Neil is back, but he has an injury problem at the minute so he may not be available for Millwall," said Pearson after the 2-1 victory at Portman Road on Easter Monday. "We have to wait and see because he has a groin problem." Paul Gallagher and Lee Peltier picked up knocks after the back-to-back victories against Doncaster and Ipswich over Easter, which have seen City move to within three points of the play-offs with four games remaining. Their fitness will be assessed during the course of this week. "Peltier has some fatigue in the hamstrings and Gallagher has a sore knee, but we have to assess them as we go along," said Pearson. "First and foremost, after having two games in quick succession, it is important to assess the fitness of the squad and take some time to recover, and then prepare for the next game, which will be another tough game." Pearson is just starting to get his squad close to full fitness at a vital time, and Gallagher and fellow substitute Andy King made significant impacts after replacing the tiring Lloyd Dyer and Danny Drinkwater at half-time at Portman Road. "We kept an unchanged side from Saturday and I just felt we didn't really look to have the energy levels that we needed," added the City boss. "I thought both players made a big impact after coming on at half-time, as did Steve Howard towards the end. The bench was always going to be very important. "We made a couple of changes to inject some fresh legs into the team. Gallagher had an huge impact in terms of what he brought to the team quality-wise. David Nugent's goal came from his cross. "I think rather than being physically fatigued, at times we were not quite as on the ball mentally as I would have liked. That improved drastically in the second half. "It was a good second half for us and we never looked in any danger. We could have won more convincingly."
Saxondale Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Shame. Al least Drinkwater and Wellens have been playing fairly well and King is back to fitness.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Pearson, Nobody cares how we win, as long as we do Regards, Leicester fans.
Out Foxed Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 why couldn't he have timed his injury for the suspension herp-derp!
cc_star Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Danns really was in good form & I felt we missed his energy & urgency Vs Forest & Posh. This lack of mental rather than physical sharpness mentioned in the article at half time Vs Ipswich has been a problem all though the season... But at least he had the players on the bench who changed things for the better, and importantly he made the change early.
cityfanlee23 Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Pearson, Nobody cares how we win, as long as we do Regards, Leicester fans. Perfection by post.
foxfanazer Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 If possible keep an unchanged side for the last 4 games and give it a really good go
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 If possible keep an unchanged side for the last 4 games and give it a really good go personally i'd take bamba out for ledge, bamba is too risky for such important games imo
dpjfox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 All our rivals will have similar injury problems but imo only West Ham have a squad as good as ours
Guest BlueBrett Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Convenient in a way. Saves Pearson a selection headache
foxfanazer Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 personally i'd take bamba out for ledge, bamba is too risky for such important games imo True
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Ledge is no better than Bamba... Yes he's probably got better distribution but he suffers more than anyone against a strong striker
foxfanazer Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Ledge is no better than Bamba... Yes he's probably got better distribution but he suffers more than anyone against a strong striker I'd probably play bamba against millwall and west ham and ledge against burnley and dirty Leeds
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Ledge is no better than Bamba... Yes he's probably got better distribution but he suffers more than anyone against a strong striker i've noticed this, but if we put morgan up against the big striker, then problem solved?
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Still think Bamba is a huge asset. He was better last season than this season IMO but he'll come good again. Think we'd regret selling him
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Danns might be out for rest of season you don't support leicester? brfc? bristol rovers?
m00nie Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 you don't support leicester? brfc? bristol rovers? blackburn rovers where son in law used to play..

Jace Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Pearson is going to have to do a Alex Ferguson and call Matt Oakley back like he did with Scholesy
