Which Restaurant for Birthday with Kids?

Recommended Posts

Old bastard here turning 40 this week.

I want to take the whole family out for dinner, including my kids who are 7 and 9 years old.

Apart from pizza hut can anyone advise me of a good family friendly restaurant in and around Leicester?

I dont even mind a half hour drive, I just want somewhere that we wont feel frowned upon with the kids and the food is decent.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks

More a pub with pub food but Mill on Soar is decent enough and kids are very welcome.

Zucherros World Buffet - Good price if you go before a certain time, also, lots and lots of choice so you wont have anyone complaining. Food is decent, although, not spectacular.

For me you cant go far wrong with any of the Curry Houses down Melton Road. The Grand Durbar is good for groups.

TGI Fridays in Cov is great but always busy, Pizza Express in St Martins (or the one down Newark which is better) or Home Made Burger company in Highcross is good.

Bella Italia is a bloody life saver for this sort of thing. There's one at the Meridian; rarely gets that busy, always easy to park, the food is pretty decent and it's all geared up to catering for families with kids in tow

Frankie and Benny's?

Good shout.

Used to take the kids to F&B quite often until they outgrew the kids menu  .

Great for kids though, they used to give them a colour pen thing and puzzle/colouring book (not sure if they still do this) to keep them amused.

*You should book in advance and tell them its your birthday, they`ll let you take your own cake in and they`ll make a fuss of you, sing happy birthday and give the kids a balloon each.

**** it I'll sort it myself!

I don't know why you're getting arsey. For all any of us know you could live in Hinckley or Melton, Saffron Lane or Belgrave Road. It was an innocent enough question.

What he meant was he was going to relieve himself of his sexual anxiety!!

When you're around to be compared to, Singhy, nobody can escape their sexual anxiety.

It was only a simple question asking a bit of advice, I only wanted a rough idea not GPS co-ordiantes! Cheers anyway.

You got plenty of reasonable advice, to be fair.

You should always anticipate a few stupid answers when you ask a question on FT.

What's your problem?

As Webbo said - we've no idea what area of Leicester you live in, and obviously the suggestions will change a bit if you're in, say, Loughborough than if you're in Hinckley.
