Guest shearfox Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 Rooney has been awful for us since 2004 I dont care what he does for ManU, if he carries on being dog turd for England he should be dropped True but Rooney wasn't at all fit for the last two major championships. I think he has a lot to offer and coming off arguably his best season at United in terms of goals scored, can you leave him out?
Jaspa Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 True but Rooney wasn't at all fit for the last two major championships. I think he has a lot to offer and coming off arguably his best season at United in terms of goals scored, can you leave him out? Well no, Ive not said to drop him immediately, They shouldn't have took him if he wasn't fit, he taught us that once and then once again in 2010. If it continues, take action, plenty of talent we can brud
Soar Fox Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 Yes, he was purchased by the same man who thought Jordan Henderson and Stuart Downing were worth 40million. lol
Kitchandro Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 Not really. He is a bell don't get me wrong but on the pitch there there is not another English Centre Half the comes close. Defo preferrable over any of Uniteds dodgey youngsters or Rio. He's been utterly shit for years in terms of England for about 5 years, and he's had a poor season. People still rate him because of his form over 5 years ago, and because he scores a decent amount for a centre back. Everyone just ignores his wank defending because the media does. It's all propaganda, it always is with these England failures. And even if he is good enough football-wise to make the 23-man squad, his attitude and misdemeanors are disgraceful. There's no way a top manager should be putting up with such a ****, he causes problems in the dressing room and has undermined every manager he hasn't liked. He's a terrible excuse for a professional and shouldn't be allowed to poison any more international campaigns.
Kitchandro Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 Bit of an exageration, his goals per game is still higher than one in three, he had a shocking tournament in 2006 but he did fracture his metatarsal less than two months before the tournament, and having had that injury myself I can tell you there is no way he should of gone, I was still in plaster after two months he should of been nowhere near a football pitch Oxygen tank or no Oxygen tank. 2010 the whole team was a shambles from start to finish, you ask me he couldn't deal with the expectation he was after all expected to be the figure head in our best chance at a World Cup in years. The lack of alternatives alone dictate that we should persist with him. Agree with that, he's the best English striker we have and don't get me wrong, he's a very good player, he's just hugely overrated. If he'd had one bad international tournament you could make excuses for him, but he's been pitiful in both World Cups, and there was a period where he barely scored for England for about 2-3 years. You're right about the fact he couldn't deal with the expectation in 2010, but that's not an excuse for him, that just means he's not a world class player. World class players are so both in skill and mentality. It's the same with the England squad as a whole for at least the last 10 years, they have no confidence or self-belief going into the tournaments, they cannot handle the pressure, and when they play poorly and it all starts going tits up, they pin the blame on someone else. i.e Terry blaming the manager, Rooney turning on the fans, Capello losing it with the media. It's always someone elses fault and that is the main reason why we continue to underperform.

I wouldn't say he's had on overly poor season at all, and I don't really know a Chelsea fan who thinks that either and I went to uni with one who has a season ticket, what are you basing this on? Since Di Matteo has taken over both him and Lampard have looked top players again, he's put some great shifts in in Europe, how often do you watch Chelsea just out of interest you seem to know an awful lot about them? in terms of England, I'd love to know why you think that, he was decent enough in qualifying. At the World Cup for all of our sh1tness he was solid, we'd have walked out the group stages with 3 clean sheets intact if Rob Green could catch a ball. Can't really blame the fact that our midfield was completley over run, Barry was an absloute passanger and Upson was terrible in the Germany game. Your second paragraph is basically your main point, you just don't like him, neither do I, doesn't make him a bad footballer.
Guest MattP Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 It astounds me that the same people who want " more commitment" from the players don't want a guy who did this at the last World Cup to try and get in the way of a shot.
ScouseFox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Yeah, Terry is a ****, nobody is arguing that, but he's still the best defender this country has to offer. Make of that what you will, but that's why he's going.
