Went behind the manager's back to secure a quick buck with a Premier League team, completely disrespecting the manager and the club in the process. Then hitting a girl in a Leicester nightclub. Nah, perhaps we should all think again and erect a fvcking statue of him outside the ground...

Everytime I see him in my local pub, he's quiet, just stands with his friends and plays pool with anyone. After a while they'd realise he's absolutely wank whether they were a team near the top, middle or bottom of the division. Our team shouldn't have walked the league because it's full of average/shit players mainly. Mattock is probably better but that doesn't mean he'd get into a top Championship side. There's a reason he's played for 3 clubs that have got relegated to league 1 that same season. And at West Brom he was a joke figure (the season they went up) I wouldn't say that at all. Jermaine Beckford - would have walked into any championship team before we signed him and was playing in the prem. Neil Danns - wanted by Wolves, a prem side before he chose us instead. Paul Konchesky - we all know what he did at West Ham and Fulham. Prem player. Kasper Schmeichel - I think most people on here would agree that he's a quality keeper, certainly not "average/shit" Matt Mills - got to the play off final with Reading, again wanted by some prem clubs David Nugent - see Schmeichel I could go on. Just because they've under-performed doesn't mean that they are average/shit players.

It felt like a cheap dig at the fans. WBA were a better club with better prospects at the time, but to have a cheap little dig at our fans as well, no need for it.

Nobody holds it against Kasper - he said that he hadn't asked for a transfer but that when he wasn't wanted and realised he was wanted by us he was pleased and was soon convinced we were a good club to go to. He didn't compare us to Leeds and Mattock didn't need to to compare us to West Brom when he left, but he did. What Mattock said was disrespectful and uneccessary, regardless of whether he asked for a transfer or not.

As for professionals thinking about their career, I've not said I have a problem with that, but they shouldn't expect to be popular if they move to certain clubs in certain situations, for example moving to a local rival. If a player would rather play for Forest than us for example, I probably will dislike them as a player, especially if they claim to be a Leicester fan. I realise most footballers don't really care about any club, but there a handful that do. I'd confidently say that I'd be one of those players, this is not be being daft or deluded, I'm just different to you, I don't think you can really compare a career in sport, and football specifically, with a normal one. You don't support business firms as a child and I doubt many people feels passionately about one (unless they created them themselves), plus football isn't really a 'job' in the same sense, it's a lark, players get paid to do a something they love, something that in an ideal world they'd do in their spare time if they had a different career. If I was playing for Leicester I'd probably be on decent money anyway, we're a club with potential, and whilst obviously playing for England would be a honour I'd feel more pride playing for my club. I can't see why winning things with a team you don't care about would be better than being a hero at the club you loved, worshipped by someone who stood where you used to stand in the stadium. But like I say, that's the way I look at it, I realise most footballers aren't like that and I don't hold that against them, it's just the disrespect in Mattock's case. And the fact he hit a woman obviously doesn't sit right with a lot of people, understandably.

Everyone is different, and if you can hand on heart put club over career, fair play to you. Some players have done that, but they are in the minority. I can quite easily assimilate playing for a football club with any other job. That's because I can separate being a fan from having a job. Most footballers have to be able to do this. Very few will play for the clubs they love, because one or the other will be too good. I still don't think Mattock was disrespectful. I don't think he's clever enough. He was misguided, and his comments could have been phrased differently, but I will not be losing sleep over what was said. After all, Heskey said that the was a huge Liverpool fan and it was a dream to play for them, when he signed for them, and people have conveniently forgotten about that.

Wouldnt get your hopes up, trying to not be bias, which i hard cause hes a ****, but from us playing against him in recent years he struggles with pace running at him
