Sorry for my ignorance, but, why the LCFC fans hate Joe Mattock?

He is from Leicester and when he left us for West Brom he said they were a bigger club than us and that they were a step up in his career (we were both in the Championship at the time).

Then shortly after he punched a man and a woman in a Leicester nightclub

If i remember correctly, he was ecstatic to hear of West Broms interest when we went down and basically forced the move.

But on the plus side, We'd probably never have signed Berner :wub: if he'd stayed

Both he and Berner played for us in League one, was there interest during that season then? I thought it came a bit out of the blue but I could be wrong.

But yeh, we weren't bothered about him leaving for long, what a hero Bruno was that season.

Peltier would also get into most Championship sides, not every Championship side has our level of expectation/spending.

It really is astonishing even after this season how blinkered people are when it comes to our players.

Apart from the first couple of months of the season he was a pretty dire player in a mediocre Championship side.

What people don't know is that he was forced out, by Mandaric. He just wanted the money for Mattock.

He was training, was told a bid has come in and that he had to leave. Started crying on the training ground.

Must admit I heard this too. Still a **** and an average footballer.

Remember when he got injured for Sheff Utd the other season against us, well apparently that was my fault, according to 15-20

Sheff Utd fans that surrounded me after the match. Thinking it was funny that we all took this p*ss out of a player with a "career

theatening injury."

I now hate Mattock & Sheff Utd even more!

So he's available on a free? Sorry but I say snap him up. Surely we can give him a small wage for which he'll be grateful for just to be wanted again and back at his home town team.

Hahaha, it deppeneds on the cotext that you want to use, but in this context (I think) it means Gilipollas, capullo, etc

But didn't he also submit a transfer request when we were relegated that was turned down? And if he was sold against his will Hume-style, then why would he need to submit another transfer request to leave? Neither of these things really make sense unless they're both lies, which would be quite troubling since they've been 'common knowledge' since he left.

Can't say I ever rated him at all, he had an ideal chance to shine in League 1, and was comfortably outperformed by both Berner and even Powell. I honestly think his always becoming amazing on Football Manager raised his profile more than his later performances ever did.

That's what was said to the press. The club wanted to make Mattock look like the bad guy because they didn't want the fans on the back after selling one of our hottest prospects.

Not sure whether he handed a transfer request in when we were relegated so I can't say much on that.

I do know he was on £50k a year from Adidas only to wear Nike in training lol.

I don't remember him being all that popular with the fans.

Given the way we have songs for players after 20 minutes on occasions, and him being a local lad, I don't recall a huge love for him.

Yep, let's all laugh at a young lad who has probably made more money than we ever will, will get a decent signing on fee from his next club and is leading a life we all dream of. Sure if he reads this thread he might be laughing more!
