sphericalfox Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Anybody else other than the Irish not want to get mugged at the Euros? Of course the Irish will be mugged by the Spanish and the Italians. My expectations in the song below:
Guest Bilo Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 That's a twat of a group to be fair. Hope Ireland get through but against Italy and Spain, I think turd in the group is the best they can hope for.
sphericalfox Posted 7 June 2012 Author Posted 7 June 2012 Do Ireland ever cheer on England? I don't cheer on England. I don't mind when you do well, cheers everyone the **** up for awhile around me. I'm used to mediocrity, so my expectations in the Euro Group is as high as when Smeggy took the reins at our club. How many of Ireland's team are actually Irish this time? Well considering the popularity of the sport played in Ireland it's not bad and is improving.

sphericalfox Posted 9 June 2012 Author Posted 9 June 2012 Looks like LargeAl is behind the Green Army!
Jordan Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 I will be cheering on Ireland to scrape out a few results and get out of that group against the odds. They're definitely going to have to get at least a point against Croatia to have any hope. After that, it would be hilarious if the Irish play some anti-football and stymie the Spanish tiki-taka. It's nothing Sean St. Ledger can't handle... But most of all, I'd love it if they beat Italy. If you think "plastic Paddies" are irritating, then you haven't met their "Italian" counterparts. And besides, why not? It's happened before (albeit in a different tournament)... P.S. That first song is actually half decent.
Finnegan Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 I will be cheering on Ireland American is surprise shocker.
sphericalfox Posted 10 June 2012 Author Posted 10 June 2012 American is surprise shocker. You can't blame one of the Irish colonies for backing us do ya?
Jordan Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 American is surprise shocker. Stereotypes and casual racism are cool, so as long as nobody makes a sheep-shagging joke, I guess.
sphericalfox Posted 10 June 2012 Author Posted 10 June 2012 Stereotypes and casual racism are cool, so as long as nobody makes a sheep-shagging joke, I guess. Why... are you from upstate?

Kitchandro Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 I know I'm going to get slated for this but why do our TV channels act as if Ireland is part of Britain?
sphericalfox Posted 10 June 2012 Author Posted 10 June 2012 I know I'm going to get slated for this but why do our TV channels act as if Ireland is part of Britain? It's because during their talk throughs there's only so much they can talk about racism, John Terry, and Rio Ferdinand. But seriously, it's to fill up time, and if Scotland or Wales were in there, they'd be talking about them.
The Doctor Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 I know I'm going to get slated for this but why do our TV channels act as if Ireland is part of Britain? Because it's part of the British Isles?
Webbo Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 Aren't ITV and BBC both shown in Ireland ? Anyway there are a lot of expat and of Irish descent in the UK and a lot of the rest of us have a soft spot for them. Typos aren't funny.

Jordan Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Hate to say it, but Ireland were outclassed by the only team in this group that one would think Ireland had a chance of beating. Slaven Bilic couldn't have done a better job writing Giovanni Trapattoni's team talk, but fair play to Croatia for backing up their coach's flippant analysis of Ireland's squad. The Boys in Green have it all to do now, but surely it's too much to ask. At least St. Legend chipped in with a goal (I swear I heard someone blow a whistle, but nevermind) and their fans were in good voice--that game sounded like it had the best atmosphere out of the first 6 games of this tournament by far.
