Guest Bilo Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 To be fair, Gary Hooper is quality. I'd love him here but not a chance in hell, probably not even in the Premiership.
Head Honcho Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 As many of you know I support Rangers and I'm chuffed to nuts that they will start at the bottom and rightly so. Just hope the clubs who voted against them don't live to regret it. No European football for 3 years anyway so might as well start from the bottom. At least the clubs in the lower divisions will benefit from increased TV money and bigger gates for a few of their games.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Let's be honest, Rangers will have some incredible away days next season for peanuts. I'd be amazed if it took any more than four years for them to return to the SPL, they may even do it back-to-back. It'll be interesting to see how many they take to Queen's Park as well.
purpleronnie Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 rangers fans will probably love it.....taking over all those small grounds, sounds fun to me.

Voll Blau Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 This will not benefit the SPL in anyway. Apart from preserving the sporting integrity of the competition, obviously.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 This will not benefit the SPL in anyway. Methinks you are somewhat biased in this judging by your sig sir.
Gold Coast Fox Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Methinks you are somewhat biased in this judging by your sig sir. I will admit it is a very biased judgment and i also agree Rangers should be punished, but surely the SPL will lose tv revenue and other clubs will lose money made from ticket sales (big game and large number of away fans) and i remember when Leicester were relegated, there was an article in the mercury about how the city in general would lose money (pubs mainly i think) So surely it will be the same for Glasgow? And a one team league cant be good for any league?
lcfc"weasel" Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Absolutely fvcking brilliant. Can't stand Rangers, granted, it will get rid of my seasonal trip to the Glasgow derby, but you can't have it all ways, guess it'll just be a champs league game instead. On the subject of the competitiveness of the SPL, I think that it will be good for one or two teams, Hearts being the obvious choice + any of the other ten. I can't, remember what the score was for the season just gone, but I'm pretty certain only one CL place was offered to the SPL, one Europa League place and maybe a place for winning the Scottish Cup. However, I'm 80% sure it's reverting to two CL places for next season which will give the chance for others to earn money and buy better players/facilities etc.. As hard as it seems to see, the brilliant eradication of Rangers FC may do the competition in the SPL some good in a couple of years. Onto how Celtic, and the Rangers from the beginning of last season, would fare should they be in the English league setup. Judging on the performance I witnessed just before the new year, Celtic gave the impression that they would battle hard for promotion in the Championship whilst Rangers would more than likely be in a relegation dogfight. However, as I've said all along, if ether, or both, were to come down here and play they should be made to work there way up from the lower leagues. If by some chance though they were allowed to enter directly into the Championship they both would, within 3 seasons be dominating the league, in my opinion. This due to the fact both have massive fan base and world class facilities. Anyhow, that's my bit on the subject, night. P.S. The Huns are going bust!! :) :)
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Imagine how class Rangers will be to manage on FM 13.

lcfcadam Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Do you people ever consider the fact that England has a population 10 times bigger than that of Scotland's? You keep banging on about how great the Premier League is and how pointless and shit Scottish football, but a quick look at the relative sizes of the two nations makes you sound pretty idiotic and pathetic yourselves. Oh and by the way, in my experience fans of Scottish clubs are generally more passionate, more loyal, more knowledgeable and less fickle than those of English clubs anyway - just sayin'...
