wakeyfox01 Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Not a winger but heard Jay Spearing is going to the trees. Would be disappointed if we didnt go in for him. His addition would allow a good 4 3 3 and no need for a winger We were linked with every name under the sun last season because we had money, didn't mean we would sign them all though, the same things happening with Forest this summer
cacabolsa Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 George Boyd is transfer listed (last year of contract) at Peterborough, asking price around £1m. Maybe not one for the inevitable step up to PL but good for a season in the Championship. Bags of skill and in last few years added the defensive aspects to his game so more a left sided midfielder than out and out winger now. His lack of pace probably stopped him moving beyond the "Posh" in past. A solid quality player who will not let anyone down - IMO getting him for a million is a steal. We could sign someone like Danny Rose on loan from spurs but will he give 100%? will he put himself out there, and if not has he the skill and know how to literally "wing" it? I'd say Boyd would be a great signing 26 years old with bags of experiance = 263 apps for P'boro 68 goals in 4 and a half seasons.

cacabolsa Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 He is crap, no better than Gallagher. He's not "crap" he might not be top Championship standard, but until he signs for a top Championship club you don't know. In Poshs two seasons in the Championship he's been one of their best players (admittedly the best at Posh might not be good enough for LCFC reserves ) Just my opinion and I have seen him play a few times, he's just an opposition player I've always noticed in past as one i'd like to sign.

He is the replica of Gallagher has his moments but because he isn't a winger when he is played on the wing all his bad aspects shine through. We need an out and out left winger of better quality than Dyer imo.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Ooooooooh Tommy Wright Or Soooooper Stevie Lynex Would be just lovely!!
Bert Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 I think its been identified, that we really need to sign another winger preferably this month. Many fans believe this is the position we need to strengthen after centre back before the season starts. So what realistic wingers would you like to see come in, people think we could do with another left-winger and I agree. If you was Pearson who would be your top target? I think Gary Mackay-Steven from Dundee Utd has a lot of promise, or maybe Erik Huseklepp as Pompey need to sell and are on the brink of going bust anyway. Realistic targets please, don't be a tit even if it's on a thread of mine Feel free to move this into the transfer section if i've put in the wrong section aswell. I've seen about 30 minutes of Huseklepp certainly not good enough for us. Average at best.
