Jagdinho Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Just saw this on Football League website a few minutes, not sure if its been put up anywhere. On average in the Football League attendance has gone up by 2%. Leicester had the 6th best away following last year in the Football League! http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/AttendanceStats/0,,10794,00.html Check the links at the bottom of the page for all of the stats. Didn't see it anywhere, so thought it might interest someone.
Happy Fox Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Editing a post in 6th Largest Away Support in the Football League? http://www.football-...4~177950,00.pdf
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 great news, but my first thought was how well the two Sheff clubs have done in terms of their travelling support, especially as they were in League 1. And Southampton... I guess it shows how interest is raised if you get on a roll...
NiftyFox Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Interesting to see the midland teams of P'boro, Coventry and Forest were the most visited by fans but we were low down in this. Why is this? Is Leicetser not an attractive prospect or are prices to high?
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 We have better support than Southampton it's only because they were at the top for the whole of the season. Both Sheffield Clubs have always had solid support.

I thought we had more than Sheffield Utd but anyway it is pleasing and confirms we are the biggest team in the East Midlands, so f**k you Forest and Dierby.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 We probably have the 5th best home support in the Football League last season. 1st West Ham, 2nd Southampton, 3rd Derby, but fans get free tickets. 4th Leeds, 5th Leicester
Jagdinho Posted 25 July 2012 Author Posted 25 July 2012 What about our attendances at the KP? 22,993 was the average and 27,091 was the highest. In reply to NiftyFox I do think our prices are high for away fans, Adults £32 (B £28) Over 60's £28 (B £25), Under 22's £22 (B £19), Under 18's £20 (B £18), Under 12's £10 (£9), Under 8's £8 (£7) Not as bad as Leeds but not cheap either.

Is Leicetser not an attractive prospect or are prices to high? Both Coventry and Forest have massive away ends which allows for more supporters. Peterborough had a terrace which is attractive to many.
DifferentViewOnFootball Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Other than Leeds, the rest of the clubs had something to play for, we we're just cack!

We could learn something from how they accommodate the supporters.
purpleronnie Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 we've had great away support for decades....no surprise. Derby may give away some free tickets, but they still get people into the ground at a greater volume than us despite doing nothing for five years. We could learn something from how they accommodate the supporters. Agreed, some fans can't praise derby for anything though...kinda sad.
purpleronnie Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Be nice to see attendances drop...people have been going on about the bubble bursting for a decade this is just more proof it wont happen...unfortunately.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 With Southampton and West Ham promoted, Leeds getting more and more annoyed at Bates, and Derby being consistantly dire, do you reeckon we could have a stab at highest average attendance this year? Wolves and Sheff Wed could give us a run for our money....

Get on a roll and you could see Leed's away attandances and Sheff Wed's rocket. And ours too....
Guest Bilo Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Peterborough was the most visited ground in the Championship last season, I wonder why....... No call for terracing though, no sir. Now sit down and shut up.
Out Foxed Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 Peterborough was the most visited ground in the Championship last season, I wonder why....... because of the barge pub
BHAFC Braders Posted 26 July 2012 Posted 26 July 2012 Peterborough was the most visited ground in the Championship last season, I wonder why....... No call for terracing though, no sir. Now sit down and shut up. so many great away days on that terrace.
ealingfox Posted 26 July 2012 Posted 26 July 2012 Considering we're mid-table mediocrity those stats are decent, think we can do much better though!
Leicester_Numan Posted 26 July 2012 Posted 26 July 2012 Our away attendances were also affected by having less attractive games like Watford & Bristol during mid-week and one of the most attractive in Southampton on tv in mid-week. All things considered, not too bad in a season like that one
ta-fc Posted 27 July 2012 Posted 27 July 2012 because of the barge pub Ssssssshhhhhhhh don't tell people about it they'll all wanna go next year! I have to say I loved going Posh last year!
