I wonder if people will have the same views on this one as the dead baby jokes. For the record NO I don't go around Facebook looking for groups that will 'upset me' this again showed on my news feed.

Just ignore it, I've not looked at the page, I'm probably not going to find it funny, but I'm not going to promote it, all it is is attention seeking losers and all you are doing is feeding their desire for attention, I'm not going to censor anyone, but if you don't like it the best thing you can do is just ignore it.

Edit: The get this sick filth banned mob are just as big attention seekers, don't become one of them, put your energies into creating something worthwhile that brings joy to the world, like some of your kit designs.

Free speech is way more important than preventing the risk of offending someone. That includes misinformation, opinions you disagree with and jokes you find tasteless. I think it's foolish to try and ban things you don't like. Obviously, there are exceptions. It's not a good idea to let people encourage others to harm innocent people, for example, but I can't see the point in trying to make it illegal for people to tell jokes you happen to find distasteful. Maybe someone dislikes your favourite joke and bans it one day.

I agree with Captain Shrapnel - if you don't like it, don't read it. Focus on something you do like.

I don't think ignoring something is the correct attitude. By all means allow people to say what they like but you have a responsibility to challenge people who hold bigoted or offensive views.

And as if to prove my point.....

Oh, and the number of likes have improved six fold to 624 since I made that post.

Trolls have been around since the internet started and still people have no idea how to deal with them. Ridiculous.

but these people don't have these views, they don't genuinely think cancer is funny, or that a baby dying is funny, I don't think the Irish are stupid but I will happily reel off a couple of Paddy and Murphy jokes.

Further to that though not only do they not actually hold those views, they are only doing it to get a reaction, so ignoring them is the best option.

If they were going round laughing at people's babies dying, then it is a different matter, and like the Garry Barlow troll probably needs police intervention because it is a form of abuse, but even then he just craved the attention, he had links to his newspaper front pages and it was just a cynical attempt at gaining some notoriety, and we played into his hands.

I assume twitter has an ignore/block feature, but people don't want to use it, they want to rubberneck at what the next vile thing to be typed will be so they can demonstrate how outraged they are first.

Exactly. This is what people don't seem to understand. To make a joke, you don't actually have to believe in it.

People say this kind of joke offensive and only sick people would make these kind of jokes, but I bet most of them have made or laughed at an Englishman/Irishman/Scotsman, a joke which essentially calls Irish people stupid, or jokes which utilise any other kind of stereotype. Either these people are being hypocritical, or they genuinely believe that Irish people are stupid, in which case they are probably more sick-minded than I am.
