It might be sick but you can't go around shutting things down and telling people they can't say things just because you don't agree with it.

How the **** hasn't this page been shut down yet? How sick are the people who post jokes about dead babies?

.

Why do I get the impression that you have posted this with the expectation that some buffoon will start posting such jokes in here, enabling you fulminate righteously...

Best left well alone.

Have you read the rules to this forum?

In all seriousness and at the risk of sounding even more of a dick than I normally am I think it speaks volumes for the kind of person who posts those things. People who hide being 'its only a joke' are usually some of the least humorous people you'll ever meet.

Nah, I'd probably never have signed up if I had.

I actually can't believe some of the responses to be honest. No I don't go around looking for pages to be offended by give me a break. It poped up on my news feed from someone commenting it was a sick group which it is?

Poster above leave it never seen you post but you seem a complete tool. This group needs shutting down ASAP.

Because some people think they are funny, it is clear what they are, it is clear it is a site for people with a sick sense of hunour, there is even a disclaimer, I just wouldn't read it if you think it will offend. I'm going have a quick read, and probably a bit of a giggle because I have a sick sense of humour.

edit: Couldn't find any jokes just poorly spelled txt speak with the caps lock on. :(

lol

To be fair it's rare a day goes by without me going onto Sikipedia to see the best of the day.

The wife came home with a pack of nappies and a bag of baby clothes.

"Is there something you want to tell me?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said, "Gary Barlow's having a car boot sale."

I stopped going on sickipedia after it got very racist, didn't complain about or shout about it, just stopped reading it and got my humour from elsewhere.

I like how dead baby stuff is ok but a bit of racism turned you off lol

Fair play though, I'm game for anything. I think it's had it's day to be honest, soon as it went too mainstream a lot of the stuff that was being put on there wasn't either sick or funny.

Most of it was about as funny as AIDS to be honest but where do you draw the line at what is deemed offensive?

I personally can't stand racist jokes and dinosaurs like Roy Chubby Brown, but I know that thousands of people enjoy that kind of humour so I'd manage to stop short of picketing his next show at the Embassy.

The jokes on that site are mostly abhorrent and downright nasty, but I have to say I'd have been completely unaware of its existence if not for a Facebook campaign to shut it down that gave it extra exposure. How many people have clicked on the link to see what all the fuss is about, had a bit of a laugh at some of the jokes and joined regardless? The anti-dead-baby-jokes page has probably done more to increase the views of it than anything the site creator could ever have dreamed up.

What we need to understand is that different people have different senses of humour that are formed by their background, personal beliefs and experiences. I wouldn't dream of cracking Holocaust jokes to one of my Jewish friends for example, but a light-hearted 'safety in numbers' joke to my mates down the pub? Yeah, I'd find it funny. I honestly think a joke about any subject can be funny if it has a bit of wit about it and is told in the right context to the right people.

I don't think anybody has a right to tell people what to find funny and what to find appalling. I'm sure we've all laughed at jokes that we know would massively offend a friend or someone else close to us, and I'm sure the reverse applies as well.

EDIT: It speaks volumes that one of the least offensive and silliest pictures on there was the only thing that raised a titter from me.

Now it's clear to me that the baby isn't going to be hurt there and that this is just meant to be a bit of fun, even if baby doesn't look particularly pleased.....

Do people really have nothing better to do with their time than complain about a Facebook page dedicated to dead baby JOKES? How about all these people look around for the real sick bastards who do sexual things to live babies and then kick up a fuss when they find a web page?

Posted

I am pretty amazed it hasn't been shut down - the site was clearly posted up to wind people up and to eventually get itself closed down.

There are many horrible pages/groups, and this is certainly one. Don't the Facebook admin check the site or what? There has to be a limit on how far you can go!?

Posted

If you know you're going to be upset by 'dead baby jokes', why the fvck do you go on to a page which clearly warns that there will be such material?

As someone else said, it comes across like you're traipsing around the web looking for things that will offend you just so you can be offended.

It amazes me how there are SO MANY people who are like this lol

Facebook has said they can't shut it down as they're not breaking any of the rules. Apparently Facebook are monitoring it though.

Yes it's sick, but just ignore it, it'll just be a group of 14 year old's craving attention.

Dead baby jokes are the sunshine, candy floss and rainbowd of the internet's darker humour. If you find stuff like that upsetting then you won't last five minutes on the likes of 4chan.

I don't find any of that stuff funny but I wouldn't say I find it offensive either. It's just nerds trying to out-do each other with sick humour.

It's like the endless racism on YouTube, it's hardly amusing or appropriate but mostly it's just a few sad twats doing it for reactionary responses like this thread.

Ignore it, shrug and get on with your life.

Well, I guess the difference is nobody actually thinks a baby dying in real life is funny, but people are actually racist and do believe that black people are inferior.

Clearly didn't read my post above.
