Recommended Posts

Leicester City will compete in the newly-formed Under-21 League this season, under the Elite PlayerPerformance Plan which was introduced during the summer.

City will take their place in the 12-strong northern section of Category Two alongside Barnsley, Birmingham, Coventry, Crewe, Derby, Huddersfield, Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan Athletic.

The EPPP is a long-term vision aimed at taking English youth football to the next level.

It is divided into four categories, with one being the most elite, a 23-team section featuring 17 Premier League clubs and six from the Championship.

Any one know who the six category one championship teams are, thought we would be close.

Palace, Watford, Middlesbrough, Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn. Also we aren't even close theres another league above us before the "Prem", academy must not be as good as we thought it was...

I thought we were applying for Cat 1, but we haven't quite got all the necessary requirements, so settled for Cat 2 until next season. If you apply for Cat 1 and fail, you can't apply for another 3 seasons or something...
