Smudge Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 and this current bunch of sewer rats (government) want to reduce numbers yet further - great idea NOT I thought the size of the police force was determined by the City / County Council.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 I thought the size of the police force was determined by the City / County Council. its the government that gives the money for the police budget (most forces are being cut by 20 million pounds currently
Smudge Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 its the government that gives the money for the police budget (most forces are being cut by 20 million pounds currently Shakes head!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Shakes head!! do you not think the budgets are passed down from the govt then?
Smudge Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 do you not think the budgets are passed down from the govt then? Different kind of head shake, this one was in disbelief that they are cutting manpower when crime is on the rise
Guest MattP Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 its the government that gives the money for the police budget (most forces are being cut by 20 million pounds currently Is that it? That's not bad considering the amount of money that has to be cut from the deficit in overall terms.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 September 2012 Posted 19 September 2012 Different kind of head shake, this one was in disbelief that cutting manpower when crime is on the rise ah apologies then kind sir. Yeah its unbelievable isnt it? This govt has the country on its knees (not that i follow any political persuasion they are all as bad as each other)
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Dreadful news. The police officers were acting on a routine U.R.N., and sent there by the control room. A safety assessment is always is always made for any job they are given. Many is the time I have heard my ex colleagues talk about being armed, and I can assure you that a massive majority are /were against it. My thoughts are with the victims families. RIP.
Raj Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Having been an ex Special i know alot of coppers. Nearly all are very decent folk who actually care about what they do and what they do for the community. To think 2 died doing their jobs is insane. RIP
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Should probably go in the c**** thread, but there you go: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/man-held-over-dale-cregan-facebook-tribute-8160173.html I knew this would happen, at least they got on to it quickly

Captain... Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Some folk are beyond thick. Im sure some liberals will say its his freedom of speech!!! Weeellll..... ...he hasn't technically broken any laws, clearly he is a tool, but why do we pander to trolls every time, we lap it up, I remember the one who tweeted dead baby jokes to Gary Barlow, was then boasting about being on the front cover of the newspapers, just ignore the cvnts, stop turning them into celebrities. In this case I bet there was no way the families of the deceased would have even heard about this, if it had just been quietly closed as inappropriate, but now it is going to be splashed all over the papers along with the cvnt who did it. The most frustrating thing about this is these cvnts are going to end up forcing the government's hand to start imposing more rules and regulations on the internet and start policing it.

Agree 100%, people are doing it to give themselves a name now. Like you say, posting things on Facebook isn't a crime and I'm more than uncomfortable with people being arrested for what are actually (even if disgusting) opinions.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 I've not looked it up, but isn't there a charge along the lines of behaviour likely to cause alarm or distress? I'm sure Lisa would know. I don't think I've read anywhere what this clown has been arrested on suspicion of, just that he's been nicked. I think there's a crime that's something to do with malicious communications, so maybe it falls under something like that

Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 Police are going to be pretty busy when Thatcher dies then. I'll be ready for the knock at the door
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 September 2012 Posted 21 September 2012 what do you want to do instead? tickle them FFS I truly believe that you are extremely naive. Without tham there would be far more dead police officers.
